A Rug of Learning and Love

Hello and thank you from Kindergarten! Our Rug of learning has not only brightened our classroom, but it has brought cheer, a love of learning our letters and sounds, and has brought some fun activities to our classroom! We are extremely grateful for your donation, your thoughtfulness, and most importantly your kindness.

We use our rug of learning everyday! We use it as our carpet spot for morning meeting, to play letter games, and we even used it to practice fire safety! We learned how to stop, drop, and roll and we learned how to crawl under smoke. We love to play letter games the most and the best one we just played was a version of musical chairs! Without the chairs! It was so much fun! We played music and walked around the outside of the carpet. When the music stopped, we had to jump to a letter and say its sound and identify the letter. We even played a "jump to the letter game!" We stood in a line and when the teacher called a color on the carpet, we had to jump to a letter in that colored row! It was a blast!

My classroom friends were so exited when we got the classroom carpet! I told them about it on our first day of school and the kids couldn't wait to see it! The day we got out, I rolled it out and the kids were jumping around and screaming with excitement (I won't lie, I did too!!!) it was a celebration! Our principal and assistant principal came down and shared it with the entire district! It was pretty cool!

We are so excited to be given this opportunity through donors choose! We can't wait to start our next project with other donors like you! We are truly grateful!!!”
