  • Flexible Seating

    Funded Jan 1, 2019

Our student's are loving the flexible seating options we have in the classroom. Our student's get to pick where they want to sit for each subject to better help them attend to the subject. One student on his own said "we have flexible seating. It's great and gives us a great opportunity". Another student said that flexible seating "helps me stay on task with my schoolwork".

I get to see my student's motivated to learn and I see an increase in their attention and motivation inside the classroom. It is very rewarding to have the ability to see my kids smile each day.

    Thank you again”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. D.

I teach students with special needs transitioning from High School to Vocational Education. My students currently sit at elementary furniture that is from other school and use pie shaped tables. This furniture is not appropriate for my students who are transitioning to the next phase of their life. My special needs students should have the same classroom condition as their general education peers in their environment. Any general ed classroom in High School is equipped with tables that are appropriate for them. My student's should have the same opportunity. NYC does not provide us with the tables we need to help our students, especially special needs students. Please help me to create a classroom that is warm and supportive for my students.
