  • Help Boost Social-Emotional Learning with STEM

    Funded Oct 28, 2022

Mahalo for donating all of these amazing materials to the STEM Lab! With the kinetic sand, over 500+ students from Pre-School all the way through 6th grade were able to conduct hands-on SEL activities to practice their communication and collaboration skills while working on creating shapes, structures, sculptures, and other designs that portray their emotions. The lower elementary students also used this sensory play activity to work on using describing words and using their senses. All students were overjoyed when they saw the cool, liquid-colored tiles laid out on the lab classroom floors. These tiles helped us to work through solving and creating coding/programming word problems as students were able to "act it out" using the tiles as a map/maze. The creative, problem-solving nature of all of these engineering activities has greatly encouraged my students to work together, try new ideas, and learn from their mistakes!”

  • Seahorses, SEL, & STEAM!

    Funded Mar 10, 2022

My students were highly engaged when I gave them the activities and challenges that utilized the brand new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) materials, tools, and supplies! These tools helped them to invest in their social-emotional learning as it helped nurture a positive culture within our classroom environment. Students worked alongside each other as they tackled projects, and allowed for many opportunities to address both students' positive and negative emotions. Mahalo for all of your generous support in helping my students thrive!”

    Ms. Soriano

  • Engaging Engineering and Explorations

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

My students from Kindergarten through 6th grade have all excitedly been using all of the STEM materials that were generously donated. Their smiles grew big as I laid out their new tools, bins, and engineering supplies on their lab tables and shared with them new and exciting projects and challenges. Students loved building birdhouses, painting creative designs on them, and hanging them around our school garden and campus. Students also enjoyed the wooden brain puzzles that kept their critical thinking up during the school day. We are so appreciative of all your support!”

  • STEM-tastic Supplies & Snacks

    Funded Feb 5, 2022

My students were amazed when they saw they were given new tools and materials for their STEM challenges! They happily worked in teams to engineer awesome magnetic marble runs, and were ecstatic when launching their aqua pod water bottle rockets! Their creativity and imagination were brought to life when they experimented and designed their own scented candles in the lab, eagerly sharing their final products with friends and family members! The healthy snacks were thoroughly enjoyed as students picked a snack bag from the Healthy Crave Box. Thank you so very much again for your generous support and donation. We truly appreciate it!”

  • Safety Supplies to Stop the Spread!

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Mahalo for your gracious donations to help provide our keiki (children) of Wai'anae) with various supplies to keep them safe and healthy. The students were so appreciative to see boxes of face masks they could wear every day they come to school, bottles of hand sanitizer to help keep germs off of their hands when they entered or exited the classroom, containers of clorox wipes to help wipe down their tables before and after they were done using them, and bottles of soap to help keep their hands clean. These materials were truly helpful in helping us stop the spread of the coronavirus and keep our keiki in school learning. Mahalo for all of your support!”

  • STEM Kits for Seahorses!

    Funded Aug 24, 2021

My students and I are enjoying using all of the different STEM kits that were donated to our classroom! These amazing kits have been incorporated with tons of our lessons that bring integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics concepts to life with hands-on, engaging, rich learning experiences!

Students get so excited when they see a new STEM kit to work with in their lessons. With your donation, the students have engineered solar system models, hydraulic arms, elevator lifts, and more! Thank you again for all of your support! We greatly appreciate you!”

  • Engaging in Life Science with 4D Anatomy Model Kits!

    Funded Dec 20, 2021

My students and I are truly loving the 4D Anatomy Model Kits that we use in our Introduction to Anatomy Unit lessons! We enjoy the fact that we can reuse these kits over and over again. My students' performance expectation was to "construct an argument that animals have internal and external structures that function to support survival, growth, behavior, and reproduction" These 4D Anatomy Model Kits lab activities provided my students with the evidence needed to make their arguments. Thank you so very much for providing my students with rich, hands-on, engaging learning experiences!”

  • Make our STEM Lab Cool Again!

    Funded Jul 19, 2019

Thank you so very much for your generous donation of air-conditioning! The classroom was not conducing to learning due to its high temperatures and students were quick to be disengaged and lose focus on their activities. Now that we have air conditioning in the STEM lab classroom, students are able to stay focused, stay highly engaged, and quickly frequent the lab to continually work on their collaborative engineering design projects, science experiments, and project-based learning assignments, and more! It's been an amazing transition to see these kids truly shine through a classroom that is now conducive for learning and success! Much mahalo for your generous donation! We are truly grateful and appreciate you so very much from the bottom of all our hearts!”

  • Food For Learning

    Funded Dec 5, 2018

Thank you so very much for providing our classroom with snacks to help re-energize our students' learning. The variety of healthy snack foods and drinks that were sent to our classroom have helped students focus on their work and not on hungry, grumbling stomachs. This donation has been such a relief especially since we're nearing the second half of the school year where testing requires much focus.

I always have a supply of food for hungry students that may not have gotten any food--sometimes since the previous day's school lunch. However, this time of year I always get extra food for testing. The students can't concentrate when they haven't eaten and I found that taking snack breaks really helps to improve their focus.

We appreciate you and the support you have given to us. Thank you for caring for Hawaii's students!”
