  • Abra Kadabra, Dry Erase Board!

    We just received our white boards and put it to immediate use! The students noticed the difference from the old whiteboard easel we had, without me even telling them! We are all so excited and can not thank you enough for supporting our classroom. We actually used the whiteboard today when I modeled how to write a birthday message for our awesome custodian! I can't wait to model more activities on a whiteboard that is easy to write on, read, and erase! I also can't wait for students to be able to come up and write on our new easel whiteboard to show their own thinking and examples!”

  • After Remote Learning - Continuing the Use of Technology

    Thank you so much for your kind and generous donations. Covid has impacted teaching in many ways. Remote teaching was always a struggle because when presenting a screen during the live lessons, i couldn't see all the students on the same device in a google meet. Having the iPad and Apple Pencil has made remote teaching a little more manageable. I can present on my laptop and still see all the students on the iPad and can now increase participation! I've also been using the iPad to record Flipgrids of the students while we are in the school building. I can't say thank you enough.”

  • All Aboard the Technology Train!

    Our class was so excited when our tablets arrived! Students love buddying up with a friend to use apps like RAZ kids and Code Spark. The students are more focused on completing their work because they want to be able to earn tablet time!

    Although most people have access to technology at home, some of my students are only able to use technology at school - and these additional tablets really made an impact! More students are able to use technology during centers and group work with these additional resources.

My students are smart, determined, funny, and inquisitive seven and eight year olds enrolled in a New York City public school in Brooklyn. We love having fun in the classroom throughout the day. My students are more engaged, motivated, and focused when we move from text-book basics to digital videos, pictures, and articles. Students can only find a limited amount of information in books, whereas there are endless possibilities using technology. I don't want my students to be bored of learning new things; I want them to continue to be excited about learning! Having Samsung tablets accessible on a daily basis would give my students the motivation to become better readers, writers, and life long learners.
