The manipulatives will be used for in-person learning that will give the students concrete experience with the standards that they’re working on. This will enhance the students' abstract thinking because it gives students a solid foundation of understanding the idea of the learning objective. The stations will improve students' math fluency skills, and reinforce what they have learned visually and auditory while doing the gradual release models. Workstations are one of the ways to address the varied needs of students. No two students learning paths are alike. Students learn by seeing, hearing, and creating a personal experience with the objective of doing. I love creating that environment for my students where they get to experience learning in a real-world way. This will help them with mental math, problem-solving, and collaborating with peers that have diverse backgrounds. The workstations give students many options to learn concepts and strategies that are unique to how they learn. With these manipulatives, my students will be able to build mathematical proficiency, increase conceptual understanding, and above all, improve attitudes about math by making it fun.
