  • Flexible Wobble Chairs to Support My Learning Style!

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

My students are so happy to have new wobble chairs in our classroom. When school started I noticed that some students were having a difficult time staying focused as they needed to move around. Our standard desk chairs are uncomfortable and they do not allow students to move around. Based on research from the web, Wobble chairs promote positive posture, students need to fidget, and they promote learning.

Positive posture promotes better blood flow to the brain, resulting in more oxygen to the brain and a more efficient brain. The brain can only operate with so much stress at one time. Traditional chairs promote poor posture, which actually puts enough stress on the brain that it can inhibit information intake while it attempts to process the negative chair-stress.

I have used the wobble chairs for small group support that I conduct in a back table with groups of four students. Also students who feel like the wobble chair is beneficial to their learning style are encourage to use a chair when needed. My next step, is to create more projects to donate a classroom set of wobble chairs. I believe all students should be allowed to sit in a seat or wobble chair that best fits their learning styles.Thank you, from room 33!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavez

  • Classroom Library with Comfortable Seating!

    Funded Aug 7, 2021

First of all thank you for your gratitude. When school started back in August, my goal was to allow students to feel safe and comfortable in our classroom. I also wanted students to move around and let go off some energy by allowing students who have a difficult time staying seated. I had requested the wobble chairs because I saw how other students from other classrooms benefited from them. These chairs allows students to move around with out distracting others and while they maintained focused.

I have been using the chairs in different ways. I have small group support daily and I have used the chairs as my students need a break from the standard school chairs. it gives them freedom to move and learn in their own way. I have also allows students who need the extra movements, use the chairs throughout the day. This has helped them release energy and feel part of the classroom.

I have seen such a wonderful experience with the chairs, my goal is to create another project to seek for more chairs. I have students with ADD, ADHD, and other learning skills. The wobble chairs benefited all my students and will also support future students. YOU have made my students happy to be in our classroom! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavez

  • Welcome Back Classroom Basics!

    Funded Aug 23, 2021

Thanks to your generous donations my 4th and 5th grade students were able to receive basic classroom supplies. Pencils, dry erase markers, markers, hand sanitizers, and sanitizing wipes are some of the materials that were distributed to each student. My students were thrilled to see all the new resources that were donated. Each student was able to receive all the materials listed. We did have a few extra materials that will be used as we are currently using the materials donated. For some families, basic school materials are resources that some families can not provide to their children, this is why I like to create projects that are meaningful and resourceful! Thank you for your donation!”

  • Having Fun While Learning the Importance of Daily Physical Activity!

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

On behalf of myself and my students, we would like to thank you for your generosity! The resources that my students will be able to use include physical education tools such as jump-ropes, kick balls, bean bags, standing cones, and much more. My goal is for students to have resources to make physical education fun and exciting. At my current school, we did not have enough materials to share among each other. With covid-19 I wanted to ensure that my students have tools that can be shared and cleaned among us. After, our lesson and activity we use wipes to clean and disinfect our tools. Thank you for your donations, we are learning the importance of being healthy in a fun way thanks to you!”

  • A Safe Return to Hybrid Learning!

    Funded May 20, 2021

It is with great appreciation that I want to share how grateful my students and myself are for your generous contributions. The majority of my students come from low socio economic backgrounds and having classroom basics is one important aspect that you were able to assist with. The items that were donated have been shared with my students. They were thrilled to see all the items that they were receiving such as writing journals, dry erase markers, sheet protectors, and hand sanitizer re-fill. We are currently using our notebooks for math, writing, and science notes. They loved how organized and easy our note taking skills have become. Before students had different journals for each subject, and now they are able to keep their notes together and placed in one area. Our current steps include, the continuation of using the classroom basics. For example, the hand re-fill sanitizers have been used and have played a key role to help ensure my students hand sanitize their hands frequently. On behalf of my students and myself, thank you for your support. We could not have had a great start of our school year without YOU!”

  • EMBARKING on a New School Year With the Right TOOLS!

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

First of all, my fifth graders and myself will like to say Thank You! My school district is teaching remotely which means we are learning from home. The tools that I needed in order to continue teaching such as the easel, the graph paper, and the magnetic charts are used daily via zoom and my students find it helpful to view notes or skills. I currently use the graphic chart to teach math warm ups such as area and perimeter. The easel contributes greatly as I used it daily to write notes that are visible to my students. My students were excited when I demonstrated our new class tool that was funded thanks to you! Once again on behalf of my students and myself, we are truly thankful!

    Take care,

    -Mrs.Chavez
