  • A Much Needed Media Club Technology Upgrade!

    Funded Aug 23, 2022

Our school and I are beyond thankful for your donation that allowed this project to

be funded. The students have been enthusiastic and excitedly began implementing the

various items purchased thanks to your donation. This donation provided our school and

media club with the much-needed upgrade that engages and exposes our students to

    modern technology!

Our school has been around since the 1950s. Our media club technology has been around since then also. Even with our outdated technology, the students eagerly attend media club sessions each morning and put in the hard work of recording and planning our school-wide morning announcements. Our new technology and resources have truly changed the dynamic of our media club program.

The students now experiment with the new cameras and manage the recording independently. The new portable cameras provided the opportunity for our students to record segments around the school and HD recordings in our studio. The lighting setup created a more modernized and professional setting for our students to record in. Finally, the screen and computer stand are being utilized as a teleprompter stand that will provide students with a true media production experience.”

  • Equip Us for the New Normal!

    Funded Jan 28, 2021

Students and teachers were tasked with increasing technology usage in education to almost 100% in the midst of the pandemic. All students, kindergarten to eighth grade, transitioned to a fully online model of learning in my school. A few months into our new normal, schools opened partially. Students were bringing computers to and from their home to school. Many students had desktop computers and needed a computer they can transport with them. Your donations made it possible to equip my students for the new normal. Students were excited and relieved to have laptops at their disposal. It became one less thing to stress about in this difficult time. Thank you so much!”

We are very grateful to those who donated!”

  • Laptops in Fourth-Grade!

    Funded Oct 23, 2019

Words cannot express the gratitude our classroom family feels toward your generosity in funding out project. As 21st century learners, these students are adapting to new technology and learning how to access the world of information that they are lucky enough to have access to. Because of your donation, my students are now able to be exposed to the ever growing list of laptop uses. They are able to access virtual instructional material and participate in their differentiated instruction through i-Ready.”

  • Cheer Squad is Growing & We Need More Mats!

    Funded Sep 20, 2018

When our cheer squad first heard that our DonorsChoose project was fully funded and ready to get cheerleading mats, they were ecstatic. Upon the arrival of our cheerleading mats, our cheerleaders were in class. We tried to hide the mats to surprise the girls during our practice, but they saw us, the coaches, in the hallway transporting the mats to the storage room. The girls began jumping and begging to sneak a peek at our new state of the art mats. As word got around, cheerleaders from every grade we're coming up to us and begging to sneak a peek at the mats. Before practice, we (the coaches) opened the mats and set them up awaiting practice time. When the girls changed and arrived at the practice area, they were jumping and running to the mats to begin stretching. Words cannot express the gratitude these girls expressed toward having a safe place to practice and essentially do all the tricks, tumbles, and stunts they would not have been able to do if it weren't for your donations toward these mats.

So far, our cheer squad has been working on a routine to perform at the our curriculum expo event. Since we had mats to safely practice, our routine was able to execute phenomenal stunts and tumbling, in addition to our dance and cheers. Following the curriculum expo event, our squad will have various practices in which the state of the art mats will provide safety and security. Our team has begun to experiment with new stunts involving basket tosses and one-legged stunts, also known as "a lib". Our girls have also been able to dedicate a whole practice to tumbling and flipping, which would not have been possible if it weren't for your generous donations. The mats have allowed our team to flourish and accomplish tasks, otherwise impossible.

Our future holds so much room for growth and accomplishment. We are now trying to take our girls to a competition. We are utilizing these mats to get ready for this moment. Each practice can now focus on the required aspects of a competition routine. Prior to your donation, these girls would not have been able to practice any of the stunts or tumbling required to compete in cheerleading competitions due to the size of our team and the number of mats we previously had. In addition to this goal, your donation has also made it possible for our cheerleaders to perform at basketball games for our school. We are now able to carry these lightweight mats and set up anywhere. Meaning, we can perform our stunts and tumbling routines in school basketball games. You have not only impacted the lives of these girls, but you have impacted the lives of the members of our basketball team and have created a greater sense of community full of support and events.

Words cannot express how happy our cheerleaders are. The excitement and motivation this donation have brought to our cheer squad is indescribable. Our girls will now be able to practice safely while reaching their full athletic potential thanks to your generosity. We look forward to utilizing these mats and providing our squad with the cheerleading experience they deserve.

Saying thank you does not justify the gratitude our school feels for your generosity. Donors choose made it possible for this project to be funded. But you, you have touched the lives of many children.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,

The new and thankful Cypress Cougars Cheer Squad!”

    With gratitude,
