Calming Area
Funded Apr 3, 2023Thank you very much for helping us reach our goal in creating a calming corner for our students. This group of students were in need of a place to calm and regulate their bodies and you allowed for this to come to fruition. They now seek out this area when in need for a quiet place to self regulate, refocus, and calm their bodies.
When my room partner and I set up the calming area we knew how excited the student would be. There were so many questions when they walked in as they saw it. We explained its use and allowed each child to "try" out the calming area. They were able to lay down with the pillows, touch the liquid floor tiles, and experience the light table and pieces.
This area is used daily and has helped out our children immensely. Without your generous donations, this would not have happened. We appreciate you!”

This classroom project was brought to life by PNC Grow Up Great®.Let's Play!
Funded May 6, 2022Our classroom is a very unique one. We have a collaborative classroom, a combination of general education students and special education students. The students are there not only to learn, but to teach each other! The day we "Opened" The Pet Vet my students could not believe it! They were so excited they could play with something so special. This Pet Vet has encouraged students with minimal language and/or social skills just jump in and participate in a safe and loving way. Sometimes they get to be the veterinarian, not an easy word to say, and sometimes they are the pet owner. It is very enjoyable to listen to the "problems" the pets have and the "diagnosis" the veterinarian gives.
This donation has given our classroom such and enriching activity and the students look forward to using it almost daily!”

Funded Mar 20, 2012I want to thank you all for your continued support of our classroom. This project not only helped this years class to enjoy watching "Today's Weather" but it will help future student's enjoy it as well. Everyday the students would track the weather as they entered the classroom and predict what it would be like later in the day. There were often friendly discussions about who could predict the correct temperature after lunch. This weather station has also been utilized not only in our classroom, but by other classrooms in the school. Also, thank you to our PTA who assisted in the funding for the software to allow this amazing donation to be accessible to anyone with Internet access!”

We Want to Write and Wipe Just Like the Teacher
Funded Jan 20, 2012I just wanted to let all of you know how greatly appreciated your gift was to the classroom and I. Through your generous donations you have helped ALL the students in the classroom achieve success. There are many students that are too shy to raise their hand in class. The whiteboards have them the opportunity to be a part of group discussions and participate more than before. Using the boards, then kids wee it more as a game and "fun" than teaching and learning. Thanks again for all you do!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Yoho
