  • From 'I Like to Read' to I Love to Read

    Funded Apr 8, 2024

I cannot thank you enough for your generous contribution to our classroom! Thanks to your donation, my students have had access to quality and engaging books that they can actually read!

It has been such a joy watching them progress through the levels. Their confidence has improved and they are rereading their favorite titles.

This truly was a phenomenal addition to our classroom library! What's even more special, is that all future second graders will have an opportunity to enjoy these quality books.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooke

  • Making Math Practice Engaging

    Funded Dec 2, 2022

Thank you for your contributions to our classroom! The new math games have had a tremendous impact on our classroom culture and have greatly impacted student learning. The students have had the opportunity to practice key 2nd-grade skills like fluently adding and subtracting within 20. The place value matching game has also facilitated learning foundational skills to support mastery of standards. Additionally, the tile activity challenged students that were already at grade level.

The games have provided an opportunity for engaging practice, but they have also helped create a fun safe learning environment. Students feel safe working with one another to improve their skills. More importantly, they learned how to support one another to achieve individual goals.

Thank you again. Your generous donation has made quite a difference in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cooke

With 75% of my students falling within the poverty guidelines, many of my students rely on classroom technology to access the internet and programs that enhance their learning. With limited school funds, teachers often struggle to provide all students with technological opportunities needed to enrich learning. Students living in poverty do not have the luxury of supplementing at home due to a lack of resources. Having chromebooks in the classroom will create a space where first graders can build their skills, confidence, and independence. Not only will they be able to utilize the many programs that support learning, but they will also be able to benefit from having the internet at their fingertips!
