Thank you for all you do to support students in the classroom. This project provided some items that made the summer come back to the classroom. When they first saw the boxes arrive they were curios, but once opening them their faces light up with the endless opportunity to play while learning. The students enjoyed their beach items along with their multipurpose beach towels. We use them in the classroom to have a small picnic on the green areas of the school, to lay in the classroom on pijama days, and most importantly to give comfort to students having a tough day. They enjoy playing with playdoh while they develop motor skills. And love to wear the sunglasses on a sunny day. Thank you for making this possible.”

This classroom project was brought to life by LOFT.
When my students saw their surprises, they got genuinely exited and could not wait for the week of the young child to arrive. They had so much fun each day of the week. First they began by participating in a noise parade where they where recognized and cheered by our whole school. Then they participated in the activity coloring my world, where they each expressed their artistic self by decorating and drawing on their kites. The students had a family project where they described themselves and family with the "Owl about me" project. This project promoted parental involvement and the students enjoyed displaying their projects. The students also participated in other sensory activities with the slime, playdoh, and, bubbles. Although many of the students had not flied a kite before they learned quick and had a blast.”

My classroom consists of 16 Kindergarten students, 11 boys, and 5 girls. We live in a low-income community by the border with the majority of the students coming from a Hispanic and bilingual background. Multisensory, fun, engaging, and interactive activities ease the challenges behind learning new skills in a different language. Maximizing these resources offers students the opportunity to close the learning gap that a language barrier creates.
About my class
My classroom consists of 16 Kindergarten students, 11 boys, and 5 girls. We live in a low-income community by the border with the majority of the students coming from a Hispanic and bilingual background.
