  • Let's Spark Creativity

    Funded Aug 6, 2024

Thank you for generous donation. My students absolutely love using their STEM toys to make innovative designs. We have been using them in our morning bins. They also use them on days that I decide to give them a soft start. When they have the opportunity to use them, they seem more calm and willing to participate more during class instruction. I have also noticed that they are more willing to speak to each other because it creates more opportunities for them to speak.

These STEM activities have really made a significant impact on all of my students.

Thank you so much for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. León

  • Stay Organized

    Funded May 10, 2023

Thank you for helping me provide my students with a manipulative organizer. Having this organizer in my classroom makes math manipulatives accessible to my students at all times. They can easily see what's inside each bin. They are able to grab what they need and take it to their tables to work independently.

Students in my class can now use them at all times. They can help them make sense of math problems. I have notice that this has allowed my students to become more confident when completing their classwork and I have seen an increase in academic achievement.”

  • Some Kids Just Gotta Keep Moving!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful donation to my classroom. My students are enjoying the flex-space classroom furniture. They love using the wobble stools and wobble cushions during small group instruction and independent work time. They look forward to using them on a daily basis. Our flex-space furniture is used throughout the day, but they are mostly used during our reading academies. The stools give them a break from the standard classroom chairs.

I love that my student have the choice to sit where they feel most comfortable.

    Thank you for you generosity.”

  • Let's Take a Listen!

    Funded Aug 7, 2020

Thank you for your kind and generous donations. My students have all received their headphones for distance learning. With your help, my students have been able to participate in distance learning with minimal environmental noise.

The headphones provided with your donations have allowed my students to take part in our daily class instruction. My students are more willing to ask and answer questions without hesitation. They are able to listen to digital books, videos and pre-recorded lessons at any time. Having access to headphones has definitely made remote learning easier for my students.”

  • We Can All Play!

    Funded Jun 25, 2020

We would like to thank you once again for your generous donations. Because of your support, we will now have access to our own sports equipment. Unfortunately, we have not been able to use our playground equipment because we are still in remote learning model. We hope to soon return to the physical classroom and put this equipment into great practice.

My students show great interest in playing team sports like, soccer and basketball. When they learned about the equipment funded through this project they cheered and applauded with joy. They are very hopeful that we can soon follow a hybrid learning model, and that they will be able to play with their classmates and their teacher.

    Thank you for your support.”

  • Promoting Reading Success

    Funded May 28, 2020

Thank you for helping me give my students books for summer/fall reading. I was able to go into my classroom to safely pack them into individual bags for my students to pick up. Not only was I able to distribute chapter reading books, but I was also able to give them basic school supplies.

Most of my students participate during our daily virtual instruction. They all enjoy reading along during our virtual book club. We discuss the events of every chapter, address story elements and analyze characters.

I know my students are enjoying their books because they come to class prepared to read. I have one student who likes to remind me that it's time to read a chapter from our book.

Once again, thank you for your help and support.”

  • Art Is Everywhere

    Funded May 10, 2020

My students and I would like to, once again, thank you for your generosity. Your donation allowed us to continue bonding over art. We love art! Through art, my students and I can find ways to express our thoughts, ideas, feelings and share our experiences.

I decided to mail each individual student an art supplies packet. I wanted them to have the experience of receiving a special packet, with their name on it, through the mail. They were all surprised and many were in disbelief that the materials were for them to keep.

Once every student had their art supplies, we began to explore various techniques when working with oil pastels. I delivered a step-by-step virtual lesson through our online platform. My students quickly got to work and began creating artwork.

My students really enjoyed our classroom art time and I am sure they are enjoying art time at home. Thank you for your support!”

  • Define It and Use It in Context!

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

I would like to thank you once again for your generous donation. Every student in my classroom now has their own whiteboard. They are able to use these whiteboards to write down ideas, math tasks or answer a quick game question during classroom instruction.

My students were amazed at the sight of their new classroom supplies. They used to use sheet protectors as whiteboards. They would often complain about them because they disliked the fact that they were not sturdy enough and the dry erase markers would not wipe off as easy. When I told them about the new whiteboards they were so happy and grateful.

Our dictionaries are being put to good use. My students now have reference books that can be used to help understand tier 2 and tier 3 words. Not only do they use their dictionaries to find the meaning of unknown words, but they also use them to confirm the phonetic pronunciation and spelling of a word. All the resources we have received are being used daily! Students and I find them useful in our daily class instruction.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. León

Young and advanced readers often need language clarification. Vocabulary development is an important component in literacy development. Reference to a guidebook, such as a dictionary, is a skill that might have become overlooked due to advancements and access to technology. With these dictionaries, my students will continue to practice how to look for and find the meaning of a word in a dictionary. These personal lap boards will facilitate language acquisition by giving the students a tool with which to practice and use the word/s under study. With these lap boards students will be able to write the word, provide its syllabication pattern, read it, and use the word in correct context.
