As a first year teacher just entering the field I need help in gathering supplies and resources for my students and myself to utilize in the classroom. I believe that the materials I have listed will help make a difference in my students' learning because it will be a step in the direction of being prepared. I know that these things would be used on a daily basis. A printer would help print out original lessons from which the students would work. Paper is needed in abundance throughout a school year and I know since a majority of my students come from a low socioeconomic background, not all of them will be able to provide a pack of printer paper. Folders would help the students stay organized in various subject areas, as would bins when turning in assignments to be reviewed and graded by myself. Pencils are important to have in the classroom too because they are used every day, they go missing, break, or lost, or sometimes the students just forget to bring a writing utensil to school. VGA adapters would let me project images/videos from my laptop, phone, or iPad to make learning in class more engaging to the student, and also helpful to those who are visual learners. I just hope to have these things to kickstart my first year of teaching, and first year of giving back to the world by educating children.
