    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Students will use the Scholastic news articles to keep updated on the latest news. This past year we read the scholastic news articles during library classes and the students would discuss what they liked about the article. Some would even go in a discussion of what they knew about the topic. Your donation helps to create that environment so students can discuss events like this.

The articles that come in the Scholastic news usually are high interest articles which the students enjoy reading! Thank you again for helping to provide this material for my students.”

  • Aggie News Explorers

    Funded Aug 25, 2021

Thank you for supporting our Aggie News Explorers grant. Students in Grades 3, 4, & 5 are impacted by your generous donation. These students have access to these weekly News articles. We use them during library class and go over news and interesting facts from the article.

The students are very excited about the stories in these articles. Scholastic also provides videos for the students to watch that relates to the articles. The students enjoy this part too! These articles will hopefully build a love for reading and also help improve reading skills with our students.”

  • Aggie Detectives

    Funded Feb 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your donations to help our 4th graders get the Scholastic News magazines. The students have enjoyed their 1st issue. They learned so much from the articles. The magazines have helped them make a connection to what is going on outside of their school, home, and community. For example, one of the articles described how life was like for students in another country that was experiencing war. The article explained to the students how students used skateboarding to help cope with the experiences around them. The magazines even come with a link that students can see clips of the people in the articles. They have really enjoyed it and will continue to enjoy it! Thank you again!”

  • Aggies on the Carpet

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

We have used the carpet cleaner at the beginning of the school year. We had hurricane Florence come through our schools. Our library window came open during the storm. Water soaked our carpet. We used the carpet cleaner to clean the carpet. It has come in as a great tool to keep the carpets clean for students to be able to enjoy and sit on. Thank you again for you help in making this carpet cleaner possible for our school! The students look forward to being able to come to the library and work in centers on the carpet!”

Students are enjoying the new puzzles! They are very excited each week to see a new puzzle available for them to try. The students work in pairs, individually or in groups. The puzzles have a variety of places that are of interest to the boys and girls. The puzzles has brought out a fun side in students that they don't normally get to experience. Most of the time they are involved with testing. This project provides students with still being able to critically think but not stress out over being graded on it.

    Thank you again!”
