• BOOM, Read Set Go for a New School Year !

  On behalf of our classroom, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our "BOOM, Ready Set Go for a New School Year!" project. Your commitment to helping our children learn means so much to us. The students were absolutely thrilled upon receiving the new toys—their smiles said it all!

  In our class, we use a star reward system to track and encourage positive academic behavior throughout the day. At the end of each school day, students can choose their favorite toy based on the number of stars they've earned. Among the favorites are the Baby Doll Set, Play-Doh, Dinosaur Toys, VTech Alphabet Apple, Kid Tablet, and LeapFrog.

  During small group activities, some students practice their alphabet writing on LCD Writing Tablets, while others complete their writing tasks using Ticonderoga Pencils, Crayola Crayons, and Washable Markers. These tools and toys make learning engaging and fun for our students.

• Help our students to be organized and independent

  On behalf of our classroom, I would like to thank you for your generous gift of supporting our project, "Help our students to be organized and independent." Your commitment to helping our students in their learning is sincerely appreciated. As soon as we received the cubbies and shelves, we rearranged our classroom outlines, which allowed the students to be independent in their learning environment. Upon arrival, the students hung up their backpacks and independently placed their lunch bags in the cubbies. In addition, we placed the students' toys on the donated shelf. The students can reach the toy shelf independently and earn their toy reward because of good behavior for the day. The plastic storage bins also provide an organized library for the students to access their favorite books. An organized library promotes the students' reading behavior, which is crucial for their success.

• Visual, Tactile, and Auditory Are Our Main Learning Channels

  On behalf of our classroom, I would like to thank you for your generous gifts of supporting our project–"Visual, Tactile and Auditory Are Our Main Learning Channels". Your commitment to help our students in their learning is sincerely appreciated. As soon as we received the donations, the student starts to use the EazyHold universal cuff to feed self during mealtimes and trace lines during writing. The universal cuff has promoted the student's independency in his adaptive behavior. The adjustable lap desk also provides a lot of supports to the student to trace lines. During small group activities, the students learn the alphabet letters through the sandpaper letters and magnetic alphabet letters kit. The students also enjoy the light up spinning tops and magic ball toy wand during the sensory time. They take turn to choose their favorite tops or wand during music movement. During the reading time, the students learn about the characters in fairy tales stories via the finger puppets. In addition, the students also created some art works with the art & craft supplies.

• New, Safe and Healthy Learning Environment

  On behalf of our classroom, I would like to THANK YOU for your generous gifts in supporting the "New, Safe and Healthy Learning Environment" 2021-2022 school year!" project. Your commitment to helping our children to learn is sincerely appreciated. Since the school was opened as of September 13, we have been using the cleaning supplies every day in the classroom. We wipe the student's desks before the students enter the classroom. The students also will use the Purell hand sanitizer to clean their little hands. Once the students walk into the classroom, they can see the "Every day is a new BEGINNING" banner that is hung on the back wall of the classroom. This inspirational quote has motivated our students and staff to start fresh every day and continue to learn. We also use the ticket holder pocket to hang up the students' work and make sure their work are clean and well protected.

• Our "New Normal" Learning

  On behalf of our classroom, I would like to THANK YOU for your generous gifts in supporting the "Our New Normal Learning" project. Your commitment to helping our children to learn is sincerely appreciated. As soon as we received the donations, we have been using the binder combs, inks, laminator, and laminating pouches to create the students' learning materials. We have created different workbooks to align the student's learning between school and home. The consistency of the learning content has promoted a successful engagement in our students with autism. The donated materials also have been helping us to run our Chapter 683 summer school smoothly. Study after study also has proven that learning by repetition is one of the most effective learning methods for students with autism. The in-person students have practiced their English language art and math skills repetitively via some laminated manipulative learning materials such as matching the letters, make a word, tracing, matching numbers &, etc. It also promotes the students' self-esteem and confidence in their learning.

• BOOM! Ready Set Go for a Hybrid Learning!

  On behalf of our classroom, I would like to thank you for your generous gifts of supporting our "BOOM! Ready Set Go for a Hybrid Learning!" project. Your commitment to help our students in their learning is sincerely appreciated; especially during this challenging Coronavirus Pandemic period. The students in the class have a Blended Learning model in which the students will have 2 days in-person learning, 2 days remote learning and alternate Monday for in-person learning or remote learning. As soon as we received the donations, we have purchased some Kindergarten-First grade reading comprehension packets and BOOM cards from Teachers-Pay-Teachers for our students. We have created a reading, math and writing binders for each student to bring home during their remote learning day and bring the curriculum binders back to school during their in-person learning. It helps us to align the students' in-person and remote learning materials. It also promotes the consistency of the student learnings between in-person and remote learning; which is very importance for our students with autism. During the in-person learning days, the students will be taught using the hand-on manipulative, worksheets and BOOM cards. During the remote learning, the students will be taught using the curriculum binders and BOOM cards.

• Let the Music Begin to Welcome the New Year 2020

  On behalf of our classroom, I would like to thank you for your generous gifts of supporting our " Let the Music Begin to Welcome New Year 2020" project. The students were impressed by the colorful music instruments and sheets. They have started to practice the xylophones to play the "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" song for our 2019-2020 School Year End show. During the song practice, the students are incredibly engaged to the lesson. They also learned about the importance of being patience; especially in taking turns. The xylophone also helped our students' eye-hand coordination which is one of their challenges. For the students who have difficulty in playing xylophone, the students played the last part of the song with the hand bell. The color-coded music sheets to match the notes to the xylophone and hand bell have made the students to learn to play the xylophone easier which had reduced the students' frustration in their learning. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school was closed as of 03/15/2020. Unfortunately, the students did not have the opportunity to perform the song on stage. However, the donated music instruments definitely have convinced the students that they are able to learn and create some lovely music. Once again, thank you so much for the generous gifts.”

• Getting Ready for Our New Adventures

  On behalf of our classroom, I would like to thank you for your generous gifts of supporting our "Getting ready for Our New Adventures" project. Your commitment to helping our children in their learning is sincerely appreciated. As soon as we received the donations, we have been using the color printer, art set and lighting fire truck to support the students learning in the classroom. During the beginning of October 2019, our school printer was broken down more than two weeks. However, the school printer issue did not interrupt our class learning's at all. With the donated printer and cartridges, our class was the only class in the school was able to print the worksheets for the students. We also were able to create different adapted books, folder games and worksheets for the students according to the lessons. The colored materials have enhanced the appearance of the learning materials and improved the students' attention to their learning. For the art set, it has promoted the students' engagement and focusing during the art lesson. For the fire truck and spinning tops, we used the toy as an incentive for the good behavior. When a student earns 4 tokens throughout the 45 minutes lesson, he or she would able to choose their favorite toys; either the fire truck or spinning top. Subsequently, it also helps the students to monitor their own behavior. Once again, thank you so much for the generous gifts. Without donors like you, it is impossible for us to deliver an engaging lesson to assist our students with autism to learn. In addition, the sensory toys and art set have promoted our students' focusing skills and self-monitory of their own behavior.”

• Start A Colorful, New School Year for Children with Autism!

  On behalf of our classroom, I would like to thank you for your generous gifts of supporting our "Start A Colorful New School Year for Children with Autism" project. Your commitment to help our children to learn is sincerely appreciated. As soon as we received the donations, we have been using the color printer, binder, laminator and laminating sheet to support the students learning in the classroom. During the beginning of November 2018, our school printer was broken down for two weeks. However, the school printer issue did not interrupt our class learning's at all. With the donated printer and cartridges, our class was the only class in the school was able to print the worksheets for the students. We also were able to create different adapted books, folder games and worksheets for the students according to the lessons. The colored materials have enhanced the appearance of the learning materials and improved the students' attention to their learning. For the communication support, the students have a colored individualized picture schedule to help them to participate and engage in the class activities throughout the school day. For a student who is non-verbal or limited verbal, he/she would use the colored picture or communication board to express their needs. A color-coded spot was assigned to each student in the classroom in order to help them to sit down in their own desk and line up during the activity transition. Subsequently, it has been improving the student's activities transition difficulties and low frustration tolerance. A smooth classroom transition has promoted the students' learning and behavior overall. Once again, thank you so much for the generous gifts. Thanks to the donors like you, our students' educational and learning qualities have been improved as well as it will not interrupted by the unforeseen circumstances such as broken printer.”
