We are adding a second science lab and updating the existing science lab to give our students more hands on science learning opportunities. Our school is an older school built in 1929 and many of our science lab supplies are from the 1980s. We are wanting to fix outdated equipment that is no longer working as well as update to the latest in science learning. We are also looking to add a second science lab so that we can have more of our students complete hands on science labs everyday to increase their knowledge in science. We are trying to teach twenty first century learners with equipment that is over forty years old and not properly working. For example our electric circuit kits that we use to teach series and parallel circuits has a date of 1971 on the box. Our magnets have lost their magnetic strength and our electric burner have rusted out. We do not have enough lab goggles for every student to be safe. If we are to help foster our young scientist's future they deserve to have tools that work. Our elementary school currently only has one science lab to service all students from Kindergarten through 5th grade classes so only one class can use it at a time. We have started a second science lab so that we can have more students working hands on lab. With a second lab we can have double the amount of lab time available to students however are supplies are very limited and even though we have the room available we don't always have the supplies available for students. Please help us to share the love of science with our students and to help us inspire some young scientist.
