  • Physics of Forces: Weights and Pulleys

    Funded Dec 24, 2015

Thank you very much for your donation to my physics classes. The students really enjoyed working with the pulleys and were amazed at the way forces can be multiplied. They were able to have enough supplies to try many different arrangements and arrived at their own conclusions as to effort can be reduced.

Soon we will be using them again, this time instead of learning about forces, they will see how work is done lifting a weight and that work becomes potential energy of a hanging weight.

I really appreciate your gift and I hope you know that it really did make a difference in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Wiest

  • Weighty Physics Problems Sometimes Result in Tension

    Funded Dec 23, 2011

Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom weight set. I am so excited about the prospect of having a class set and I want you to know that your donation will really make a difference.

I cannot wait to be able to work out problems on the board and have my students be able to actually experience the application of what they are learning. With your help, my classroom will be even more experimental and that will help ground students in the theory's they are learning.

Thank you everyone for all your help in getting us these weights!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Wiest

  • Carefully Calculated Necessity

    Funded Dec 10, 2011

Thank you so much for contributing to my calculator fund. I am so excited about the prospect of having a class set and I want you to know that your donation will really make a difference.

I cannot wait to be able to work out problems on the board and have my students be able to follow along, doing their own calculations all the way instead of sitting there with blank looks on their faces, hoping that I don't call on them for an answer.

I especially want to thank my former students for donating to this project. You guys are the best - when I saw your names on the list of donors, it brought such a smile to my heart!!!

Thank you everyone for all your help in getting us these calculators!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Wiest
