My project is a Mixture of Retro Crafts and Future Innovation: Futro Art!
Combining retro crafting with futuristic virtual reality will assist me in creatively connecting students, while meeting multiple NV Art Standards (Creating, Presenting, Responding and Connecting to art).
Retro Crafting
-- IDEA: Students sitting around, making lanyard key-chains, friendship bracelets with their school colors.... This artistic crafting is where communication starts. Interaction, small talk, learning about other's lives. At the SAME time, they're literally creating art together. Selecting colors, planning ideas, practicing long term focus, hand / mind coordination, etc.
-- GOAL: Help to Mend & Repair almost 2 years of lost connections because of COVID. A time to sit, connect and create. PLUS... it's portable for home!
-- NV STANDARDS: 6th (Cr2.6., Re8.6.1Cn11.6.1) 7th (Cr1.7.2, Re9.7.1, Cn11.7.1) 8th (Re8.8.1, Cn10.8.1)
Virtual Reality
-- IDEA: Students will be able to experience ART through Virtual Reality. Creating 3D art, collaborating together, shared experiences. All this while applying and learning the principals of art.
-- TOOL: The Oculus Quest 2 is a virtual headset that allows students to..... 'Virtually walk into an Art Museum" and select the artwork for their history report. OR.... they can LITERALLY create art with virtual brushes that can be surrounding them. AMAZING... plus... the other students can watch the experience on the TV's in my classroom.
-- GOAL: To have students interact both in person and virtually to collaborate on art. Connecting students together to rebuild connection. It may also spark my struggling artists attention. This is the future of where this generation of artists is heading.
-- NV STANDARDS: 6th (Cr2.6.2., Pr4.6.1, Cn11.6.1) 7th (Cr2.7.2, PR4.7.1, Re8.7.1) 8th (Cr1.8.2, Re7.8.2, Cn10.8.1)
