The Words Their Way Series focuses on the five key developmental stages of spelling and orthographic development and outlines the best strategies to teaching these stages. Research shows that improving fundamental skills like spelling and handwriting actually improves the overall writing of a student. In my class, students learn to read through writing and if their writing skills are hampered by their spelling abilities, then they are not learning to their fullest capabilities! With "Words Their Way," my students will benefit from a targeted instructional approach that this book series does best. I only want the best for my students!
