Reading in Math
Funded Aug 24, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations which allowed my students to enjoy some mathematical based reading material. My students love the series about Sir Circumference. Through this series the students learn and are introduced to the characters whose names are different key words that deal with circles.
Many of my students are ELL which means they learned English as a second language and they learned their native language first. These students need to be exposed to reading material which can help the understand and expand their vocabulary.”

Fun Time Learning
Funded Dec 14, 2016Thank you so much for calculator holder sleeve. It saves valuable instructional time and teaching my students how be responsible. They immediately take their calculator when they enter the room and start work once they get to their desk. At the end of the class they return the calculators as they are exiting the class.
Since we have not wasted time distributing and collecting calculators we have time to play some fun educational games. The students can play these games as a whole class or in small groups. The games are also fun for classes that I substitute for when work hasn't been left.
Finally, my students are very excited to work with the three dimensional solids we will use in the next few months as we explore surface area and volume.
You donations have made a powerful and wonderful impact on my students and their education.”

Class Set of Calculators
Funded May 7, 2016Dear Donors,
We are so grateful for your very generous donations. The calculators have taught my students responsibility. We devised a system of distribution so each student is accountable for certain calculators. The students take great care in collecting and checking that all calculators are returned and have been used appropriately.
Secondly, since everyone has the same calculator, there is continuity of learning how to use the scientific calculator and its functions. I was able to teach the students many functions of the calculator with ease. They loved using the calculator while studying Statistics. I was able to show them how to enter data values and calculate the mean and variance of a set of data values. This help expedite and broaden our conversations about comparing different data values and their mathematical significance. Using the Texas Instrument Scientific Calculator will allow my students to adapt quickly in high school when they are introduced to the Texas Instrument Graphing Calculators.
I am over joyed to see my students using their calculators as mature young ladies and gentlemen. These calculators are preparing them for using the calculators in high school and teaching them where the functional keys are located and the different uses for them.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cundari
