Funded May 23, 2024I want to thank you for all the support you have given to my class this year. Your generous donations enabled me to send home tools for my students to keep learning over the summer. The tools you helped supply, were placed into a special Summer Activity bag so the students have these tools available in one place.
My students were excited and couldn't wait to see what was inside the bags. The parents were so happy, excited and truly appreciated receiving these Summer Activity Bags. A heartfelt thank you for caring and supporting our children.”

Funded Jan 29, 2024Thank you for the generous donations to help bring my project to life. My students were extremely excited to see the materials come in. When the boxes were open they screamed WOW and wanted to try out the stress balls and tent.
The tent was for a particular student with autism, who needed this space for calming down. The students understood but I allowed them all at some point in the first week to use the tent during reading time. The tent is folded up and when my student needs his calm down time, he pops it open and goes in with his books or headphones until he is ready to join us. I cannot thank you enough for this tool. It has helped him succeed in calming down and coming back to participate without a total breakdown.
The stress balls are used by every student. They have a few that they use when they feel anxious or stressed. It helps keep our environment in a positive flow throughout the day.
The toothbrushes were a great tool for me to use during our health lessons and were sent home to the families. I sent many home to each family, so that the siblings could also benefit from them.”

Funded Jan 11, 2024My students were so excited when they received the packages from DonorsChoose. They wanted to start playing the games immediately. I explained they would be using the games during literacy center time. They could not wait - they kept asking, "Can we do literacy center time now?"
When it was time for literacy center, they were ready. I opened up the Word Popper game first. The game is for a group of students. They have to pick a card, read the CVC word and whoever had the word on their popper could pop down those letters. The first person to pop down all their spaces is the winner. They are still asking to play this game to this day. The next game was the sentence building game, which really helped those students who had trouble writing a proper sentence. It was also fun because they could create silly sentences. It is a fun educational game. The last was the spelling board game, which helped students with letter sounds and spelling of words. Another fun educational game.
We want to THANK everyone who gave a donation. Your support is appreciated more than you know!!”

Funded Jan 9, 2024When we first received the baskets my students were happy because they knew they were going to help fill them up with books. Our class gave our books a place to live. They sorted books into fiction and non-fiction. We also placed books in baskets by author and subject matter.
The larger baskets were used to place giant dominoes in for our math game center. They were also used to hold all our wonderful instruments. The class worked as a team to get this done. They were so proud of themselves.
We want to THANK YOU for caring and giving to our project. You all made it possible to give our books a home.”

Funded Sep 26, 2023My students were so excited to get the new materials to work with. There were some students who never brought in supplies from September, and they now have their own pencil case full of pencils, crayons, markers and scissors that they use throughout the day. These serve as their tool kit during reading, writing and all subject areas.
My students and I want to thank everyone for the generous donations that they made toward this project to help it come to life. These basic supplies were so needed and have been so useful. Thanks again for all your support!!”

Funded May 3, 2023A great big THANK you for the delicious snacks! We were able to "power-up" every day with a new choice of snack each time.
When we first received the snacks my students were screaming and so excited to see the size and amount of snacks that they loved. Each day they got to choose between two different snacks. They loved it, especially since some students never had snacks to eat. I usually had apple slices or muffins saved from breakfast. They were tired of that.
The snacks gave them the energy to finish the days work and to be very happy! Thanks again for your support!!”

Let Us Be Heard Loud and Clear!
Funded Aug 9, 2022To start, I would like to thank each and every one of you. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. My students love using these headphones as they do projects independently. Although these headphones are not exactly what I thought they would be - they have great use in my class as well as a useful tool for some students who needed the headphones at home to work on their laptops to do work. Those students love talking into the mic when communicating with me. It makes them confident to speak and I hear them loud and clear! Thanks again for your generosity.”

Funded Apr 2, 2022Thank you for the self-esteem games and for the flexible seating materials. My students were thrilled to use the tray tables and rugs to work independently in the room. This has helped them find a space to work independently without disturbance from other students while working on their writing, an assessment or a project. The games have built up their confidence and have created students who share and feel comfortable doing so. I cannot say it enough how fortunate my students and I are by having this venue to receive materials that provide so much for our children. Thank you all for what you do.”

Reading Is in SIGHT!
Funded Nov 29, 2021Our class would like to Thank all of our donors for the literacy center games and activities. They are helping us learn how to sound out words and become better readers. They are also helping us become better writers. We are having fun learning as we play and do the activities.
The materials have been used to create literacy centers that we use each day. The word building tiles have helped develop skills in phonics and spelling. The touch and read CVC word match has helped develop skills in isolating sounds in CVC words, blending sounds and decoding words. The sentence center has helped my students create sentences while using the sight words they've learned.
We will continue to use these materials as we have Fun Learning!!”
