Reading Buddies - I Can Read!
Funded Dec 12, 2017Thank you again for donating to the future of my students and our community. My students were so excited to know that some cared enough about their future and their education to give them new materials. You never know what these kids might grow up to do thanks to your kind donation. The little things make the biggest difference in their lives. Thank you for helping me show them how important they are to the world.
As a part of this project, my students get to take home a stuffed plush dinosaur along with some new easy reader books. We have named our Dino Rex and they look forward to seeing who will get to take him home each night. One student said that he would read all the books in the bag plus all the books at home. Thank you again for your kindness.

This classroom project was brought to life by Cards Against Humanity and 2 other donors.Painting and Computers!
Funded Nov 29, 2017My students were SO excited to know that someone believed in them enough to donate to our class. We really appreciate the donation. My students were so excited to see the new microphones and computer mice. Then when I told them we were going to paint, their eyes lit up even more!
Many of my students have not been allowed to paint and be creative so they were over the moon. They had the opportunity to be creative and then to combine the arts with technology made it even better.
Thank you!!”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Donor and 28 other donors.Wiggle, Wobble, and Learn!
Funded Nov 29, 2017Thank you so much for giving to my students. They were so excited when the boxes were brought in. They were almost in tears when we opened them and put together the wobble stools. The students were excited and everyone had to try them out. One student said I can move and not fall! After putting the rockers together, they were added to our classroom reading spot. Students look forward to being in the Read to Self center so they can sit in the comfortable chairs and read.
My students are using the wobble chairs everyday and they look forward to it being their day to use them. In our classroom, we have many seating options and that is one that is a class favorite!
Currently, my students are learning to work independently on projects using technology and other resources to complete engineering challenges. We would love for you to keep up with our class on Twitter - @csmithsmarties.
Thank you so much for investing in the future of my students.”

Funded Oct 11, 2017Thank you so much for your kind donation to our classroom. The look of amaze and shock on my students faces when they found out we would be able to use our computers to scan QR codes took my breath away. My students and I are eternally grateful for your support and for you helping our classroom.
We try to use the resources we have to the best of our abilities and your donation has made an impact on the lives of my students. Thanks to your donation, we have been able to start creating digital portfolios and share our learning with technology. Here is an example of one of the videos created by my students - https://app.seesaw.me/pages/shared_item?item_id=item.b2e80657-7dd3-409c-9da9-9c7eb0b838fa&share_token=4yc9rwvuQZaeBy8cvV80yA&mode=share.
In our classroom, we have several older computers which still work, but we were unable to log in to Seesaw or to take pictures. Now we can do both.”

Learning Through STEM
Funded Nov 7, 2017Thank you so much for the donation of STEM materials to my classroom. One of my students said that it felt like Christmas morning when they came in and saw the new materials.
Thanks to this project, my students have been able to create and explore with hands on materials. They have learned how magnets work, created a roller coaster, and tested like an engineer.
The materials are now a part of our Science center where students are given opportunities to complete challenges with a partner. As they complete these challenges, they are able to problem solve and learn how to work with others.
Thank you so much for your kind donation!”
