  • Bugs are Cool? - Learning about Insects as Class Pets

    Funded Apr 23, 2018

Thank you to Angie Reading and Cherelee Hall for supporting our classroom! My students were so excited when we put together the terrariums and added the insects. We refer to our classroom as a zoo. We LOVE learning about each animal and their habitat. Prior to this project, we had a bearded dragon, tarantula, large terrarium, and zebra fish. Now, we have Madagascar hissing cockroaches and millipedes at every table. Students take turns having the terrarium in front of them so they can look closely at the millipedes and roaches. This is an exciting learning opportunity that my students will remember. Thank you for being a part of our learning community and supporting our class. We are always looking for creative and exciting ways to add to our learning.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks to you, we are learning bugs are cool!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smith

  • Gaming Math and Science With Take Home Bags

    Funded Dec 7, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom and believing in the power of my students. We have had a blast opening the packages as they came and looking at all of the new math resources. Students have enjoyed playing games instead of just worksheets. By sending home math game bags, students are engaged with their parents and family members in doing homework. One student told his Mom that he knew I was tricking them because they were still learning, but it looked like fun. He said I was disguising work as games.

Thank you for helping me teach my kids that learning is fun and practice doesn't have to be more work.”

  • Learning through NonFiction in 1st Grade

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for donating to the future that is learning in my classroom. My students were so excited to hear that we would be getting new books to read. When I asked them what they were most looking forward to reading about, the response was insects. There are many different books to choose from on Reading A-Z and they match my student's reading and interest levels. This is so helpful when completing small group instruction and getting those reluctant readers to read.

Your support of my classroom means the world to my students and I.

    Thank you!”

  • Fired Up for Learning in 1st Grade - Part 2

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for donating to our class. Your generosity will never be forgotten. Thanks to you, ALL of my students have a device they can use at any point in the day. My students use tablets all day for learning, exploring, and creating. They have been more engaged in every lesson and student voice is through the roof. It is amazing to see even my quietest students participating in class!

The look on their faces when I told them that someone believed in them as much as I do is priceless. They will do great things and it all starts with kindness. Thank you!”

  • Fired Up to Learn in 1st Grade

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Thank you so much for your donation to our classroom. My students have been so excited since this project completed our classroom 1:1 initiative. We are now able to use technology throughout every day in all subjects. Thank you for believing in my students and their future.

Without this donation, many of my students would not be able to access technology because many do not have Internet at home. In our classroom, we use the tablets for students to learn and show their learning in innovative ways. They get so excited when they get to go on their tablet and show their knowledge about something new.

My students will never forget your kindness. Thank you!”

  • Engineer of the Week - STEM and Storybooks, Part 2

    Funded Dec 12, 2017

Thank you again to Jessica Flanders for donating to the future of my students and our community. My students were so excited to know that some cared enough about their future and their education to give them new materials. You never know what these kids might grow up to do thanks to your kind donation. The little things make the biggest difference in their lives. Thank you for helping me show them how important they are to the world.

As a part of this project, my students and I read a different book as a mentor text for a week. We look at different parts of the book and use it to learn reading skills and strategies as well as grammar. At the beginning of the week, students take home a baggie of materials and a challenge. They are not allowed to use anything other than tape and what is in the baggie. They get to be creative at home and bring their designs back to school. This week, they created the most magnificent thing! It is amazing to see the pride they take in their creations.

    Funded Dec 10, 2017

Thank you so much for helping my students to learn in new and exciting ways. Thanks to your generosity, my students are engaged in learning every day. We use the tablets in both whole and small group instruction. Students are encouraged to work with each other to show their learning.

I have one student who is very quiet and shy. This student has opened up by using technology to share. It has taken away the fear of sharing in front of the whole group.

Thank you for all you have done to make a difference in the lives and education of my students.”
