• Wireless Tools for Inclusion

  Thank YOU for supporting my students with wireless computer mice. They have really enjoyed having the ability to use the mouse with our Chromebooks. Trackpads and first graders are not a very good combination.

  Their favorite is being able to play a drag and drop game to practice our spelling words. Our spelling test scores were higher since they have started practicing with games as well as direct instruction in class.

• Go Paperless and Go Green!

  Thank YOU for supporting my students as we learning in new and exciting ways. Every child learns differently and some learn through games. Thanks to this new Chromebook and the cases, we are able to use technology to practice skills we are learning in class. Students have a list of websites they are able to go on when they finish assignments. These websites help them by reinforcing what they are learning in class.

  We also use them to complete assignments in Google Classroom. Students are able to go back and correct work digitally. They are able to take more responsibility for their learning through the technology we use in our classroom.

• We Want to be Rooted in Reading

  Thank you SO much for supporting my students in learning how to read. These books are the ones we use for our shared reading time. This is a time for us to read and enjoy books. We get to explore why the author used the words they used. We spend time talking about books and developing a love of reading! These books are so fun to read and my students have enjoyed exploring them with our class.

  The best part is that with each story we learn about a new topic. We do a drawing and writing activity so students get to be creative in response to the book.

• Spend or Save? Financial Literacy in Elementary

  Thank you SO much for supporting my students and their learning. We are in a high poverty rural area. Many of my students parents do not have extra money at home to give their child allowance. Thanks to this project my students are able to earn virtual money and choose what they would like to do with it. They are learning life skills of spending and saving. We will be completing a unit on needs and wants during this holiday season. It is my hope that my students will remember what they have learned when they are adults and have their own money to spend.
