    Funded May 4, 2022

Wow I can't begin to thank you enough for your donations to our scholars. The Frozen Jr. production was wonderful thanks to your help.

This project helped us acknowledge the scholars and their hard work by creating a display of their headshots and photographs of rehearsals along the way. Our scholars were very excited to see their headshots displayed on the easels. The paper was perfect for the programs and printing photos.

All guests coming to view the performance were able to view the photographs and see the hard work that built up to the performance.Thank you all so much for your support and helping fund this project! Your generous donations and your support are truly appreciated.”

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

I can't begin to thank you enough for your donations to our scholars Our scholars were very excited to use the sound board in the Frozen Jr. production.

This project boosts our scholars self esteem as they gain confidence to perform on a stage in front of an audience. The skills they gain as they practice in the days leading up to the performance help our scholars grow in many ways.

With your help the sound of the show was clear and loud. Our scholars were heard all the way in the back of the auditorium thanks to our wonderful donors The sound board will remain a part of the Broadway Jr. productions in future years as well. It will be a great tool for our scholars to use for years to come. Thank you again for helping us make our voices heard.”

  • Help us Fill Our PBIS Rewards Store

    Funded May 17, 2022

Our scholars were so excited to view the new items in the PBIS Store. They were overjoyed to see the shelves filled and so happy to begin shopping for new items rather than the same items that were there previously.

These new and exciting items on our shelves encouraged scholars to display positive behavior. Scholars shop at our store with PBIS points. Points are earned when scholars display articulate, responsible, motivated, outstanding, and respectful behaviors. Points are also earned through attendance and wearing uniforms. The new store items encouraged scholars to come to school each day because they did not want to miss their shopping days.

Thank you very much for your help in funding this project. We will create another project to fill our store with more items soon. We hope we can continue to count on your help and assistance to fund our projects for our scholars.”

  • Building a Community Through Books

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you very much for your donation to "Building a Community Through Books". Our scholars enjoyed listening and responding to the selected books of the month. The books helped our school build community while learning valuable character traits like responsibility, determination, and perseverance.

When the entire school community reads the same book each month it builds community because scholars of all ages can discuss it with one another. Scholars can learn new vocabulary, develop higher order thinking skills, and build relationships with in our school building as they discuss the piece of literature.

After the books are read they are placed in the classroom library for scholars to look back on and reread again. Scholars enjoy seeing familiar titles in the classroom library and look forward to sharing them again and again. Once again thank you for your generous donation to "Building a Community Through Books"'”

  • Virtual Storytime

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you very much for helping me bring books to life during the pandemic. During the remote instruction I was able to share the texts with scholars during live zoom meetings. We focused on sequencing, characterization, and prediction. Scholars were able to predict what would happen in the text by looking at the cover of the book and using prior knowledge about the character or topic. We were also able to strengthen sequencing skills by focusing in the beginning, middle and ending of texts. By reading books with the same characters we were able to look closely an characters and character traits. The puppets helped us build on our oral language and storytelling.

Now that we are back in our school building, the books are used in the library and in classrooms. We are able to continue to build on the skills i started teaching in remote instruction.

Students enjoy retelling the stories with help from the story pieces and puppets. They also enjoy listening to their favorite titles and authors more than once.Thank you for donating to the project.”

  • Three Cheers for Our Cheerleaders

    Funded Nov 15, 2019

Our scholars could not believe the generosity that you showed for this project, We had always dreamt of our cheerleading team having uniforms but never imagined it would happen. The donation of uniforms increased the self esteem of the girls on the team and increased their sense of connection and family towards one another. Team members did not have to stress about what they would wear for events.

While at school the team was performing at basketball games, and a number of shows, concerts, and festivals.. The team traveled to a number of nearby venues such as, churches to perform as well. The uniforms connected the team to one another. It helped the team get unified and feel more like a family.

When we return to the building our scholars will continue to perform for pep rally and basketball events within the school along with festivals and concerts or shows in the school. There will also be events in the community like Fall festivals, open house events, sporting events and team building events that our cheerleaders will perform in. We hope to include competition events in the near future, where our team will compete against other cheerleading teams.”

  • Help Fill Our Scholar Dollar Store

    Funded Apr 23, 2015

I can't begin to thank you enough for your donations to our scholar dollar store. Before your donation our store was looking a little empty and there were no items that really interested our scholars. Our scholars were very excited to see the new fun filled items that were donated to the store.

With your help scholars now enjoy coming in with their scholar dollars and shopping for objects. Scholars visit the store twice a week and are able to purchase what they want with the scholar dollars that they earn.

This project boosts our scholars positive behavior by rewarding them for displaying positive behavior. Examples of rewarded behavior includes helping a classmate, showing star listening in class, and following rules and expectations in places like the school cafeteria and the gym. Thank you again for helping us fill our scholar dollar store and fostering positive behavior in our community.”

My school is located between two housing developments. A large percentage of the school's population come from low income homes where parents are struggling to support their families. The economic hardships that these families are faced with have an effect on my students and their learning experiences. I try to constantly make students excited about learning, and try to differentiate instruction to match a variety of learning styles and student interests. I am also constantly trying to expose them to things they might not experience on a regular basis. To accomplish this we need assistance.
