  • Amazing Story Writing

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you so much for enhancing our writing! When I got the materials the students couldn't wait to jump into writing activities. We had to pause what we were doing to try out the story cubes right away! The students got into groups and told stories using the cubes. As we were trying it out, the English Language teacher stopped by. She loved seeing her students getting extra oral practice through the activity you provided. One student loved the story he made up so much, he asked during indoor recess if he could get out his computer and write the story he had made up. Thank you for helping to grow these students.”

  • Connecting Literacy Through Art

    Funded Oct 12, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting education in my classroom. We have been busy reading and making connections with art. My students are so excited to use the art materials to connect with literacy. We have made print blocks while reading Thunder Rose. We used our 3D pens while reading Rent Party Jazz. We did a collaborative art project while reading Love Will See You Through. It feels like this was the project that keeps on giving. I have been able to come up with so many more art projects utilizing all the great materials you were so kind to provide. My students are learning and growing and making connections, thanks to you.”

    Ms. Croft

  • Art is Everywhere

    Funded Jun 18, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. I asked my students what they liked best about school so far, and they said it was art! What has been amazing about these supplies is that I have been able to integrate art with math, science, and reading. Art truly is everywhere! It's been great to read and learn about famous artists. We have read about Alexander Calder, Thomas Moran, and Piet Mondrian. We learned about balance in a mobile, area and perimeter in a grid, and perspective in a landscape. The students have been so excited about the art projects that they have worked hard to take good care of the supplies so they have gone much farther than I anticipated. We will get to use them for more art projects!”

  • Two Screens, Cool Beans!

    Funded Feb 18, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. The two screens have been a game changer during reading groups. The second screen allows my students to self direct their own learning during reading groups. Students choose a variety of reading based activities during reading groups. We collaboratively keep track of this on the screen and students mark their progress. This technology is so exciting to students as they are in charge of their own learning instead of waiting for me to direct the activities. They evaluate their own learning needs and use the screen to keep track of that progress. I have seen two of my formerly reluctant students get excited about what reading activity to work on, now that they have the power to choose and track their work on our two screens. Thank you for inspiring these students.”

  • Student Wish List

    Funded Jan 5, 2021

We love our pencils! It's amazing how much different high quality pencils are different from the cheap pencils. The cheap pencils break and can't be sharpened. We are using our new pencils all they way down to a tiny stub.

We are using the science supplies to have one special science project a week. On Friday, the students never fail to remind me that it's special science day. The solar balloon was such a hit. We couldn't believe how it floated just by being filled with air.

Thank you for supplying the little extras that my students needed to make this year successful!”

    With gratitude,

  • Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you so much for adding a much needed boost to my classroom. By using the Teachers Pay Teachers Gift card I can add to my curriculum the little extras that were missing before.

I used the card to purchase a place value number line. This helps with our math curriculum and makes a large hands on visual that helps students understand place value up to the millions place. I'm leaving it up and using it again for decimals when we get to that unit.

I also was able to buy some banners that we are using for book reviews. The students love to read a book and the write about it on our new banners.

This truly was the gift that keeps on giving and my students are always so excited when I tell them it came from our generous donors!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Croft

  • Beyond the Basics

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for brightening our day! We are so excited to learn together at school and these supplies have made all the difference. We use our post it notes all the time for brainstorming before writing or for solving a quick math problem. We even use them as bookmarks in our favorite books.

We now have our homework on bright pink paper thanks to your generous donation! That makes is so much harder to lose in the bottom of a book bag. The students love taking their homework page home to record reading because it looks different from anything else they write on.

We used the markers to make a pop art drawings. They are up on our wall and we love looking at them. Thank you for helping to make my classroom colorful again!”

  • Cricut Joy

    Funded Jan 9, 2021

This resource has made our classroom so much more homey. We are using it to decorate and add the touches that are desperately needed in this time of Covid when all the fun and cozy items had to be removed from the classroom.

One of the first things we did was add to our rules wall a list of things we do in class. We have been building a classroom community and now that is up for everyone who walks in to our classroom to see.

Second we used the machine to build on our Social Emotional Curriculum. We are working on positivity and we made a sign that says, "You Decide". That means to us that we get to decide on our attitude.

What I love the most is that we are able to personalize our space and make it meaningful to us. Thank you for providing supplies to make that possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Croft

  • Game On!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

The students were so excited when we got the boxes of games. They knew exactly what the games were for. They told me they couldn't wait until reading time to try out the games.

The first one we tried was Mrs. Berhardt is a Card. I couldn't believe how that activity got even my reserved students talking and laughing. We were all playing together and having fun talking about rhymes, adjectives, verbs, and nouns. It was amazing!

Each week we try out a new one. Sometimes students play on their own and sometimes it is a collaborative activity. No matter what, they are growing their skills as readers and loving language along the way!”

  • Book Chats

    Funded Mar 5, 2020

Thank you so much for providing books for my classroom. We love books! Now that we have several copies of the same books, students are reading them together and recommending them to friends. Wings of Fire is a particular favorite that we now have several books in the series. It's so exciting for my readers to feel confident enough to recommend a book to a friend.

The students also love the cushy chairs. They look forward to reading group time because they know there will be dedicated time to immerse in a book. There's something to be said for that routine. They are disappointed when something interrupts our reading time, which is a new feeling for them!

Thank you for providing much needed supplies to make our room a reading room!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Croft

This exciting Recycled Robotics project will engage my students in the STEM 21st century skills that they need for the future. Robotics is a thrilling, interdisciplinary field that will challenge my students with math, computer science, and engineering. The robot and circuit kits I am requesting will actively immerse my students in a hands-on project to provide experience with engineering and the design process. This project will allow students to see the value of recycling as they repurpose a soda can into a moving machine. Finally, students will use the Smart Machines kit to program our Recycled Robots to move it! This project will increase our home to school connection as students take home the Recycled Robot to share with their families.
