  • Gateway to Knowledge

    Funded Mar 29, 2017

Thank you so much for your faith in my skills as a teacher, but a huge, huge thank you for believing in my students. We are working hard everyday to further our learning and technology only helps me make this even more possible for my students.

It is my goal to make sure that my students are prepared for their future grade levels and the not just in secondary schools but also into post secondary schools. I am honored to walk into my classroom everyday and utilize the technology that has been provided to me in the form of your donation.

I pray that you continue to support others like me, and their students. Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Natal

  • Toon City

    Funded Feb 4, 2017

Thank you for the opportunity you have provided my students. The books we have received because of your donation will allow my students the ability to read more books with different genres. These graphic novels will appeal to all students, and the levels included in this set will benefit all reading levels in my classroom.

The students have looked at the books and have showed extreme interest in the books. I look forward to sharing these books with all my future students in the years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Natal

  • Fiery Education

    Funded Oct 12, 2016

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. My students have utterly enjoyed the extra technology in the classroom. We have implemented the devices into our daily centers/stations. The students are able to read and practice answering comprehension questions on the Kindles. Struggling readers have been able to log listening to reading time using the devices and this is a huge advantage for struggling students.

There are more and more applications coming out that support education and we look forward to using the Kindles year to year and building our technology within the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Natal

  • Loving Literacy

    Funded Aug 1, 2016

    Dear Donors,

I appreciate all of the donations I have received. The books and supplies that I have now in my classroom are amazing. The students are enjoying all of the new chapter books and the students are discovering new information daily.

Some of the books that I requested are from the nonfiction series I Survived, and the nonfiction series Who Was...?. I was not sure if the students would be interested in these books because they are nonfiction, but these are the books the students all gravitate towards.

I decided to make my grade level change from second to fourth grade late in the summer and I am so glad that Donors Choose is available to teachers to help facilitate monetary needs and help provide classrooms with necessary materials.

Again, thank you for your generosity and your belief in my abilities.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Natal

  • Reading Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

    Funded Sep 13, 2014

Thank you for your donation. My students could not believe that someone who did not even know them would be willing to donate books to help boost their learning. It was a wonderful experience to see how excited they were.

My students are enjoying the books they have available on their reading level. We have created a reading library, where students can go can choose books on their reading level. This helps students practice picking books specifically on their level. I appreciate your belief in me and your willingness to help.

At the beginning of the year, we teach our students how to pick books that are just right for them. We ask that the students look at the cover then use the five finger rule to determine if the book they are looking at is a perfect fit. This requires the students to read the first page and if there are five or more words they do not know, then this is not a good fit for the students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Natal

My students are what you would call bubble students. They are not low and they are not high. Because they are considered bubble students they would become better students or they could lose interest in school and fail. I want to put books in their hands that they are interested in. The more books I have, the more I can encourage them to read and become successful. My school is fairly large and houses PK-2nd grade. We recently had to add classrooms because of a large influx of students. However, each classroom does not have the same supplies or items necessary to provide leveled readers to each student.
