  • Hygiene For All

    Funded Mar 18, 2020

My school is a mixed of middle and low income. Anything we can do to help reduce the stress of purchasing girl related hygiene products we do, that's why I was so excited to see this project when it was offered.

My girls were thrilled!!! They loved them!! They were excited!! They saved money!! The cost of sanitary napkins is a lot so they truly appreciated the savings. There was a lot of nervous laughing going on as I handed out the packages but they were very grateful. We will be looking for similar offers to help us offset the cost of hygiene products for our girls!!

Love the students of PS/IS 48!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reese

  • Goods for Good Behavior!

    Funded Apr 16, 2019

In our school, we use a system that brings real rewards to our students. The system promotes positive student behaviors, both academically and socially. Just like adults, students need incentives for their hard work. When we began the program, we had mediocre rewards. In order for the program to work, we needed rewards that would truly motivate our students. As you can see from the photos, the students have been super excited to see the new (potential) prizes we have for them! This would have never happened without your generous donations!”

  • Reaching For Realistic Rewards!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Just like adults, students need to be rewarded for their hard work and effort. The program my school has chosen to implement does just that. The students are shown what positive behaviors look like and sound like. They are shown expectations for the classroom, cafeteria, hallway, and even our school bathrooms. When the students are observed following these expectations, they receive one of our school "dollars." With your donation, they can now exchange their dollars for amazing rewards!

The students save their dollars and then come to "shop" at our school store! Thanks again for helping us implement this amazing program!”

  • School Time Sports!

    Funded Mar 12, 2018

As you can see from the photos-the students were VERY excited to receive our sports donations! Unfortunately, it has been too cold to utilize them!

Once the weather warms up, the students told me they are excited to use the new balls during recess! A few students also mentioned that they were excited to play mini-golf while in school since it is not usually a school time sport! One of the students suggested a staff kickball game with our new supplies!

Thank you again for helping me make a difference in the lives' of my many students!”

  • Impressive Incentives!

    Funded Mar 12, 2018

Once again, thanks to your donations-my students have been able to receive impressive incentives for their positive behaviors!

As you can see from the photos, they were so happy to help me unpack these new items!

Although they are not immediately able to trade in their earned "dollars" for their incentive, it gave them even more motivation to continue their positive academic and social behaviors!

Thank you for making all of this possible! Without your generous donations, we would not be able to continue this wonderful program at my school!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reese

  • Incredible Kids Need Incredible Awards!

    Funded Feb 26, 2018

Since September, the students in my school have been receiving "dollars" for following various academic and behavioral protocols my school has put into place. We have had various rewards all year, some of them were not that appealing to my students.

We FINALLY now have some rewards that appeal to them! As you can see from the photos, the students were VERY excited about the new items in our school store! The students are definitely eager to continue earning their "dollars" that could potentially gain them an exciting item like the Amazon Echo!

Thank you again for helping me show the students that hard work DOES pay off!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reese

My school has chosen to implement a positive behavior rewards program. According to their website, "PBIS improves social, emotional and academic outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities and students from under-represented groups." All of our students are learning to be responsible, organized, accepting, and safe while they are in school. Students follow a school-wide matrix, which helps them identify appropriate behaviors necessary for success, throughout their school day. When one of our staff members sees a student following our matrix, they are rewarded with a "PBIS" dollar. Students can exchange these dollars for real-life rewards! Currently, our rewards are mediocre. The materials I am requesting will create motivation for the students to follow our school-wide matrix and therefore earn more “dollars.” Items such as an Amazon Fire Tablet or Amazon Echo Dot provide the much-needed encouragement for students to earn “dollars.” An exciting incentive, such as the Beats headphones or Fujifilm Instax camera, will definitely inspire my students to improve their behaviors, both socially and academically. Students eventually exchange their earned dollars for these incentives! We are very excited to implement this program at my school, and want to continue to reward their hard work!
