  • Please Read!

    Funded Oct 19, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity in funding my classroom library! I am excited to introduce students to the joy of finding the right book to spark their love for reading!

Thank you for the amazing support! I am certain these books will have a positive impact on my students. Thank you for helping to make that happen!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pantalone

  • Join us in celebrating the retirement of Well Loved Supplies.

    Funded Mar 17, 2017

Hooray! The old supplies are getting ready to celebrate their retirement! Thanks for giving them a well-deserved send off as they close this chapter of their lives and head off to discover some new purpose. Maybe they will be a part of a recycling project? Or the brushes might get to finally bathe in glue since we are no longer worried about their fragile hair. In any case, we are grateful for the new adventures that await them and will clear out a special home for the new replacements! Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pantalone

  • Out With The Old, In With The New! Set Completion!

    Funded Oct 4, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous support for my students! Through your generous donations, I am able to provide my students with high quality art supplies. I am also able to check out these supplies to students to take home, knowing that in the rare case something happens that makes returning the items impossible, we have other supplies to use in class. That is an absolute gift as students often want to work on projects outside of class, but might not have the resources to purchase supplies for home.

Thank you for supporting art in education. I feel very fortunate to be able to work with such amazing, creative, awesome students and grateful for your support in helping me provide quality art experiences for them!”

  • Awareness Art

    Funded Sep 16, 2014

    DonorsChoose,

Thank you for running the Friends and Family Challenge earlier this year. I am grateful for the awesome art supplies I have been able to purchase for my classes! As a result of the challenge, we were able to get significantly more supplies than we would have been able to otherwise.

I am happy to be able to share with the folks who supported us in March exactly how far their donations went. They will feel a real sense of pride in knowing what they helped our program achieve!”

    With gratitude,

  • Magnificent Mosaics

    Funded Sep 15, 2014

Actually, dear Donorschoose and all friends and family who donated during the Friends and Family challenge,

Thank you for your generosity last March! As a result of reaching 50 individual donations, our classroom received an additional gift card that has enabled me to purchase products for new projects such as this.

I am excited to see the magnificent mosaics students will create and am grateful to be able to provide them with such a meaningful art experience.

Thank you for supporting the arts, and especially for supporting my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pantalone

  • Picture This!

    Funded Sep 15, 2014

Well, this should actually read: Dear DonorsChoose,

Thank you for running the Friends and Family Challenge earlier this year. I was able to receive funding for my project through the generosity of friends and family and thanks to your generous incentive, I am now able to purchase a much needed document camera for my classroom.

DonorsChoose is an amazing organization and I am grateful for the ease with which family and friends and parents can donate to my classroom. It has allowed me to provide top-notch art supplies for my students, and definitely supplies that we would not otherwise be able to purchase.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pantalone

  • An Apple a Day (or in This Case, a Year)

    Funded Mar 21, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous support this past school year. Your donation during the Friends and Family challenge enabled us to purchase a top of the line Macbook Pro, which we were already able to use at the end of the year for photography and video editing. I am excited to have this resource available for the upcoming school year and am thrilled to be able to see the students really have time to learn and utilize the many editing options on the Mac. With so many students hooked into social media, it will be a valuable tool in providing access for them to share and edit their photographs and videos. It will also enable them to create community within our school as they will develop videos and slideshows for assemblies and all-school events.

Through your generous donations, we were able to meet the challenge goal of 50 donors and were awarded an additional $3000.00 in matching funds! The additional funds will enable me to purchase desperately needed art supplies for both buildings this year! Again, thank you so much for your amazing support of my students! Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pantalone

  • Removing Roadblocks for Artists

    Funded Jan 26, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our program! Having resources available and ready has been a great asset in my classroom. It a wonderful gift and we are grateful for your support!

Students are now able to easily access materials and are able to begin creating much more quickly than before. Additionally, the composition finders have been helpful as students work on grid enlargements. They have been great tools and items we would not have been able to afford without your support.

Art matters and because of your generosity, our students feel like they matter, too.

Thank you from the bottom of our heARTs!

  • Creativity Corner

    Funded Oct 8, 2013

Thank you so much for your generous donations to the Creativity Corner! We have put the items to great use already! Due to winter weather, our school was closed for three days this semester. The unexpected closings created lots of chaos in the art room as we were in the middle of various stages of projects. What a gift to be able to have materials that students could use independently while other students completed art already in progress.

Having an extra stash of games and materials empowers students to create art experiences on their own. It allows them the opportunity to answer their own question of, "I'm finished. What do I do?" They know what to do! They go over to the Creativity Corner (though really it is more of a cart instead of a corner) and find something fun to create or play or learn.

Thank you, again, for providing my students with quality art resources. We appreciate you greatly!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pantalone

  • The Chromatic Classroom

    Funded Dec 14, 2012

This is a very belated thank you, but heartfelt all the same. Thank you so much for your contribution to our Chromebooks! They have been a HUGE help in the art room as students are often needing to find source images to draw. They have also been an enormous asset in providing students with access to view art from around the world. So many museums now have online galleries that students literally have access to thousands of pieces of art. They are also able to play a variety of interactive games that present art history and concepts in an engaging format. Because the Chromebooks are small and user-friendly, students are able to pull them out often. They have also been a huge help in aiding students in writing their artist statements for their work.

Thank you for your generosity in supporting our program!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pantalone

We all have a story to tell and there is real power in the retelling. There is healing power, there is inspirational power, and there is growth power. The students involved in this project attend alternative school. The high school students choose to be here for a variety of reasons. The elementary students have had teachers/advocates/parents select this environment for students whom they believe will benefit. While it is true that every student has a story, the student in our school have especially poignant ones to tell. Art and music are often comfortable forms of expression for students. This project gives them the opportunity to tell their story, the choice to share it, and the resources to create an epilogue or a sequel to what has been.
