  • Brand New Books for a Brand New Year

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you so incredibly much for your generosity in donating new beautiful books for our classroom. While my students this year haven't yet been able to return to the classroom safely, when they do, I know they will absolutely LOVE these new books you have provided. They are so curious about the natural world, and these books will provide a lot of incredible information about ideas they are curious about.

With these new books, we have been able already to read them aloud over Zoom, and the students have been so excited to be able to learn more about the world around them. They have lead to really interesting discussions and investigations about the questions that they have. We couldn't have done this without the donation you have made and without you! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

  • Inquiry Through Nonfiction Early Readers

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation of new books for our classroom. While my students cannot return to classrooms safely yet, we have been using the books you provided to do read-alouds over Zoom during distance learning, and the children have been so excited to read new books they have seen before. My students are so eager to learn about animals, so I know the nonfiction early readers will be a huge hit once we can safely return to school.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. Words cannot express how truly grateful I and my students are! We could not do this without you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

  • Students Deserve Representative Books!

    Funded Jul 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation of representative books to our classroom library. While our students cannot safely return to classrooms yet, we have used these books in Zoom read-alouds during distance learning, and the children have been excited to see books that represent who they are as people. They have loved getting to hear books read aloud to them, and these books have started great conversations about the similarities and differences in all of us, and how it is important that we honor and celebrate our differences.

Words truly cannot describe how incredibly grateful I and my students are for your generosity. We could not do this without you; thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! Stay safe and well during these new and challenging times!”

  • Help Us Safely Learn Outside!

    Funded Aug 3, 2020

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation of an outdoor scale for our outdoor classroom. My students are not able to return to school safely yet, but when they will, they will be able to effectively learn outside, where it is much safer to do so. My outdoor scale cannot be outside yet, as no students have returned to campus, but when they do return, it will be used outside to weigh and compare natural materials for STEM learning.

Thank you so much again for your generosity. There are no words to describe how grateful I and my students are. We cannot do this without you! You have provided a safe and engaging outdoor space for all of my future (and present--hopefully) to learn. One day soon!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

  • Outdoor Classroom Needs STEM Learning Space

    Funded Aug 3, 2020

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation of an outdoor low table for my outdoor classroom. My students are not able to return to school safely right now, so my low table cannot be outdoors quite yet, but once we are able to return to school, I know how much they will appreciate it! Once they have returned to school, we will use this table to display natural materials outside for them to investigate and develop their STEM knowledge.

When we do return to school, the students need a safe outdoor space to learn safely outside, and with this donation, we will be able to do so! We could not safely learn outside without your generosity. Thank you so much! Words cannot express how incredibly grateful I and my students are for your support!”

  • Artwork Every Day Keeps Students at Play

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation of art materials to my classroom. While my students are not able to return to my classroom safely yet, when they do return, they will have a wide variety of art materials to use to explore, explain their thinking, and express themselves. Especially during this time of distance learning, the children will need opportunities to connect with others in the classroom and themselves on where they are at emotionally, and children often express their own emotions through art.

Thank you so much again for your generosity! Words cannot describe how incredibly grateful I and my students are. We truly cannot do this without you!”

  • How Might Exploring Sand/Water Connect You to the Natural World?

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation of a sand and water table to my classroom! My students have not been able to return safely to the classroom yet, but when they can so safely, they will love this new sand and water table! When they do return, we will fill it with both sand and water at different times for them to use for science, mathematics, and storytelling! The students love playing with sand and water, but they haven't had access to it in the classroom yet, but now they do!

Thank you again for your generosity! Words cannot describe how incredibly grateful I am for your donation, and I know my students will be too! We cannot do it without you!”

  • STEM and Problem-Solving: Educating Future Thinkers

    Funded Jul 29, 2020

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation of SumBlox and real tools to my classroom! While my students are not back on campus yet, when it is safe to do so, they will be back to enjoy and engage with these wonderful materials.

When they do return to campus when it is safe to do so, they will use the tools to solve their own problems and make solutions. In the past, they have had many experiences where something broke that we needed to fix or they wanted to build something to explain their thinking, but they couldn't because we didn't have the right tools. Now they will be able to independently! With the SumBlox, the students love to build, and now we have mathematics materials available for them in the block area as well! The children will love these new SumBlox to build with, and it will reinforce what they are learning in mathematics.

Thank you so much again for your generosity. Words cannot describe how incredibly grateful I am, and I know my students are too! We cannot do this without you!”

  • Rhythm Sticks for Music and Movement

    Funded May 20, 2020

Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation to my classroom. My students are not in the classroom yet, but once it is safe to do so, they will love these new rhythm sticks! Once we return to school safely, I plan to use these for our music and movement periods throughout the day. The students currently attend music class, but this is only for a short period once a week, and they LOVE it. Music is so relaxing and engaging for them. When we do engage in music in our classroom, they crave playing instruments, but we did not have any for them to play. Now, thanks to you, we do!

We hope to engage in music and movement multiple times a day when we return to school, as when our students do return, they will need a lot of time to engage in community building and positive emotional experiences, both of which are included in engaging with music. Because of your generosity, my students will feel loved, cared for, and encouraged when we safely return to school. Thank you from the bottom of my heart; words cannot express how truly grateful I and my students are. We cannot do this without you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

  • New Books for a New Kindergarten Classroom

    Funded Aug 16, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation of beautiful children's books to our classroom. I am a brand-new kindergarten teacher, and I am so glad that I am able to provide beautiful children's books to my students. My students' families are often in my classroom, and they often comment about how beautiful my books are, and how lucky their children are to have such great books in their classroom!

In my classroom, we teach reading in a relaxed, inquiry-based manner. The children learn to read when they are interested and ready to read. The children learn to read using meaningful, important, and beautiful texts. They learn to read through interest-based book and genre study, and through the process of finding words that they want to read.

We are so lucky to have these beautiful new books, and they have been the starting point for many interesting conversations around fairness, equity, and diversity in our classroom and in our world! These conversations couldn't have started without you and your generous donation! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

My Kindergarten students are problem-creators and problem-solvers. They are curious and considerate. They are investigators and evaluators. In our classroom, we give the children the space to share their own ideas and debate each others ideas. They come up with theories about the world around them, and they investigate these theories through projects.
