  • Transportation Station!

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you so much donors for this incredibly generous gift of a new transportation station play set for our classroom! When this arrived, my students were so excited, they were trying to play with it before I even had it all put together! They loved using this to play with, and it really centered our learning around the city that we live in, and drawing maps to represent our city! Thank you so much for this generous gift to our classroom! I know my students are so incredibly grateful for these wonderful new materials!

We couldn't do this without you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

  • The Sights, Sounds, Smells of Home

    Funded Oct 15, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations of new books about home and habitats to our classroom! We are so incredibly grateful for your donations and support of this work in our classroom!

We used these books to center our work on what the word 'home' means to all of us. We talked about what makes a place a home, and what sights, sounds, smells, and tastes are present at all of our homes. We talked about home as a place we and/or our family lives, and homes might also be a person or people we love.

We couldn't do this work without you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

  • What Does It Mean to Be Home?

    Funded Oct 13, 2024

Thank you so incredibly much for these wonderful new books about homes and habitats for my classroom! We used these books to center our discussions and work around what the meaning of "home" is, what animals homes/habitats are, and how we as humans and animals all need homes to protect us and keep us safe. We discussed how our homes are not just where we currently live, but where our family and loved ones live or where we have once lived is also our home. We talked about how people can be our homes as well.

We couldn't do this wonderful work without you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

  • Habitats: What Can We Learn From Animals' Homes?

    Funded Dec 1, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation of these wonderful new animal homes for our classroom. As you can see from these photos, my students have already been hard at work creating animals homes, learning more about habitats and climate adaptations of different animals. This has been especially important now, as we talk about forest habitats, and how to support the animals and people living in the forests who lost their homes in our recent devastating wildfires. We are talking about the ways we can support our community during this challenging time. Thank you so much for your continued support!”

  • Arctic Animal Adaptations & Habitats

    Funded Dec 18, 2024

Thank you so much for these incredible new winter materials for our classroom community! We are so grateful for your generosity in providing these materials to help our students learn about winter. This is important, especially living in a place that doesn't experience snow, that we give my students experiences of weather and communities that are different from them. This is some of my students first experience with 'snow.' They have been loving telling stories with the arctic animals, and creating habitats for the animal families. We are so grateful for your support!”

    With gratitude,

  • Walking in a Winter Forest-land

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

Thank you so much for these wonderful new storytelling materials for our classroom community! These materials are especially important as we are talking about forest habitats, and how to support our animals and friends who lost their homes in our tragic forest fires. We plan to use these materials to play through our feelings and come up with strategies for support. We will learn about the animals that live in the forest, what makes the forest special, and how we can make sure those animals that lived in the forest are safe and secure going forward. We couldn't do this without you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Courtney

My Kindergarten students are problem-creators and problem-solvers. They are curious and considerate. They are investigators and evaluators. In our classroom, we give the children the space to share their own ideas and debate each others ideas. They come up with theories about the world around them, and they investigate these theories through projects.
