All of these materials will help my students be able to learn coping skills, self-regulation, emotions, and many other tools to be successful in school and outside of school. I have lots of sensory toys added for students who get sensory overload and students who need more sensory. I have flexible seating options for students who come in and need a variety to choose from. I have snacks added because students come to my office when they need a snack or are so escalated they don't realize that they are just hungry. I do lots of small group and individual counseling so my goal is to have these students be able to manage their emotions with objects throughout the room. (The tent is a space for peace and comfort, the seating is for sensory needs or a student be able to make their OWN choice, the games are for small groups to manage emotions, the books are to help students learn about diversity and/or feel comfortable knowing there are others like them). Maslow's Hierarchy of needs above Bloom's Taxonomy.
