We Are Tickled Pink About TECHNOLOGY!
Funded Jun 21, 2019The girls are thrilled! The technology received is a wonderful back to school kick off. We have established workshop times and activities for the class. We will be using our tablets and iPads during independent and group work to enhance our learning.
Just today, one of the reading groups was working on context clues. They girls worked in pairs. The objective was to use context clues to help identify meaning. If they were still unsure of the meaning of the word, they were instructed to use the iPad to help them look the up the word, as well as use an example to show understanding. The technology received is just the beginning to a wonderful year.
On behalf of my class and myself, we are just tickled pink with thanks!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Verizon and 12 other donors.Planner Girls
Funded Aug 4, 2019The planners are just amazing! The girls are learning how to become organized. The ladies have a section to write weekly and monthly goals for themselves. This is encouraging them to be consistent in school and to have a meaningful understanding as to why certain activities will be beneficial to them.
Homework writing, and preparing themselves mentally for each day is usually a struggle. Today I noticed in one of the girls daily check off list areas she wrote, "Apologize to ...for being mean yesterday." How cute and honest! This expressed her personal priority for the day! I was loving her thoughts to make sure she fulfilled this act and was most importantly owning her choices. Thanks so much for your generous donations. We are striving to become successful young ladies educationally as well as emotionally!!”

Beautify Our Floor!
Funded Sep 17, 2017My class was thrilled to receive this beautiful rug! We gather together daily using the rug to meet with one another and discuss the upcoming events of the day. The students sit back and are comfy using this wonderful rug.
During independent reading and buddy reading, the children will meet on the rug and grab a spot so they can dive into their book and get lost in it!
This rug has given the class happiness because a desk and chair is not always the best place for a child to learn. The rug gives students a different environment to feel ok with not being in a desk, yet still learning! This rug provides an option instead of learning from a chair, they can feel more comfortable either sitting or laying down and still meeting their educational needs!
Thanks so much for the generous donations and allowing my class and the other classes to come a cozy place to gather each day and feel loved in their classroom as well as loved in their learning!”
