It is my joy to teach at Wood Elementary in Arlington Texas. I currently teach 3rd grade, all subjects, but I previously enjoyed 4 years of teaching 6th grade science. My 3rd graders surprise me every day with their compassion and grace. They don't just treat me with this love, they treat each other with that same mercy. These are character traits I want to encourage them in as they grow. Our favorite time of day is morning meeting, because it is a space for all of us to be heard, plus we also play some fun games. Our campus is predominately made up of white and Hispanic students, and about 11% of our campus is black. We have a high population of special education students, and I love seeing how the students in my class treat them with respect. I strive to create a classroom which is a safe space for all of us to be excited about learning.
