Funded Mar 30, 2016My kids were extremely excited about getting their own deodorants! They were eager to rush off to the bathroom to put it on as well! Our school counselor is great, and she talked about various hygiene tips from washing hands, making sure clothes are clean, deodorant, and teeth brushing. Of course, as fourth graders, this was nothing new. But the smell in our hallway changed the very next day, so the kids really took to heart what they had heard the day before. Each morning the kids would come in and talk about how many seconds they put their deodorant on, and it made all the teachers chuckle a bit. This new found love they had for deodorant made field day even better! Being out in the hot Georgia sun for the day could have gone sour in many ways. Thanks to their new deodorants, they were the best smelling sweaty kids on the field! Thank you again for helping out with this project, and for caring about my kids. I can't thank you enough.”

Funded Aug 21, 2015I wish I could have bottled the excitement that my kids had as soon as they saw our new carpet. I could not believe how much they appreciated seeing something so special and brand new, it truly touched my heart. The excitement was so grand that we ended up having to rearrange the ENTIRE classroom to accommodate everyone wanting to sit on the carpet all the time. Everything in the classroom has moved so that we could fit more people both on and around the carpet. Each day we have a rotation for who gets to sit on the carpet during reading, and everyone crams in when we sit at our community area for mini lessons in subjects each day. Sometimes all my kids need to cheer them up is a few minutes to sit on our cozy carpet. If you could come and see how much the carpet is used and how much it is appreciated, you would never want to leave. My class is so sweet, and very appreciative of anything that they receive, especially when it is as grand as our class carpet is. Despite saying that it was unnecessary for the kids to write thank you cards, I felt that it was a valuable lesson to teach my kids. It is not often that they receive gifts, so I want to instill a sense of appreciation and gratitude in each and every one of them, a quality that is so important in life. You may notice that they each have their own passport. Each week we work extremely hard to earn stamps in our passport allowing us to travel somewhere new, if only with our imaginations. So thank you, thank you, thank you a million times over for helping my kids explore the world from within the walls of our classroom.”
