Many, many years ago, when the local high school renovated its weight room, we were lucky to have had their old equipment donated to us. While its has been a blessing to have, unfortunately now the equipment is failing, and its time to replace it. This new weight room equipment will allow us to provide a new opportunity for our school, both in the physical education department and in our after school programs. It will allow my students to have another outlet to pursue their academic and athletic interests. For many of these students, participating in physical education and athletic teams not only helps to motivate them to come to school, but to do well in school as well. These students deserve to have a working weight room. I have seen how physical education and athletics can positively affect my students and hope that the new weight room equipment will continue to make a positive impact in my students lives.
