• Flags for the Field Part III

  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were not able to conduct the activities as planned during this past school year. I am immensely grateful for your contribution to our physical education program and we look forward to engaging the students with these materials in the Fall.

  My students are very anxious to use the materials. I have been working with our entire physical education team in order to prepare for a fantastic year of physical education in 2021. Thanks to your donation, these students will have the greatest class experience yet in this upcoming year.”

• Providing Mobility for Virtual P.E.

  Thank you so much for you donation to this project. This project has had an immediate impact on my ability to deliver quality instruction to my students. This technology has freed me from the archaic laptop and allowed me to explore the full expanse of my classroom area.

  My newfound mobility is most important to me as a teacher striving to adapt in these challenging times. My students and I can be more interactive and our virtual students can even be more involved with their classmates thanks largely in part to this project.

• Match Point: Tennis Balls for Everyone!

  I must thank you so much for your donation to our school. We have been working hard to provide every student with a tennis ball - especially those who have not had the opportunity to come to school yet. Our classes have been working on hand-eye coordination, tossing, catching, and throwing with the tennis balls. My 1st grade students have had tremendous success and really enjoyed playing a game where they have to toss the ball at a wall and make a catch before the ball hits the ground. My students were very happy to receive a ball of their own. "I really get to keep it?" was a phrase I heard over and over again as we distributed the balls to the students.

  I am continuing to develop projects that are designed to enhance my students' ability to play and participate. I am currently drafting a few projects that will provide some much-needed sports equipment to some after-school teams that I help coach. I appreciate your kindness. It was a tremendous display of gratitude and I thank you on behalf of my students.”

• Jump for Joy! Everyone Gets a Jump Rope!

  I was very excited to see this project had been fully funded. Unfortunately, the precise items that I had requested were not available once the project was funded and I had to select alternative jump ropes that were perhaps not as high-quality as I would have hoped. However, my goal was to provide as many students as possible with their own jump rope and this project made that happen.

  My students were thrilled to receive a jump rope from the school. I was happy to explain that it was your generosity that made it all possible. They have really enjoyed being able to use the jump ropes in class and the students participating virtually are also able to participate. It has been a great sight to see.

  We currently have many other projects that are striving to generate more equipment and opportunities for my students. I appreciate you so much for helping fund this very successful project!”

• Let's Play Another Game: Kid-Inspired Activities for P.E.

  Funded Feb 21, 2019

  I am so happy to tell you that your donation has had an immediate impact at our school. With the equipment pack that was funded by your donations, our school has been able to supplement our current P.E. equipment and add dozens of new pieces of equipment. Thanks in part to your donation, we now have an adequate number of playground balls to play new games that were created by our students. One of these games is a combination of soccer, handball, and H.O.R.S.E. Our students are always so impressed when I tell them that kind strangers are responsible for this equipment. We thank you for it!

  I have made the decision to slowly reveal parts of the equipment pack throughout the rest of the school year. Most of this equipment will not be used until we begin the following school year. This will allow the equipment to last longer and have a more profound impact on the students as they will have year-long benefits from your donation. Students were thrilled to have a playground ball to play four-square with again and soccer balls are always something we need more of each and every day.

  In regards to my next project, I plan to continue increasing our P.E. equipment inventory. I am always looking for more soccer balls and footballs and may set my sights on more playground balls as so many of ours get kicked onto roofs or over fences throughout the year. I appreciate your support. I hope that this project will have an impact for years to come as students can use this equipment to create games, learn to play happily, and have positive interaction with peers and teachers.”

• Let's Pump Up the Volume in P.E.!

  Thank you so much for you donation! My project had been live for some time now and my hopes that it would receive its funding were fading. I appreciate your generosity. • Jump for Joy! We're Getting New Jump Ropes

  Funded May 8, 2019

  My students have been thrilled with these new jump ropes. We have been using six-year old jump ropes to do our jump roping activities and so many of them are in need of being retired. We have immediately incorporated this new equipment into our class and the students are so happy.

  My students were over the moon when I showed them that we were no longer going to be using our beat-up jump ropes. One student said, "Are those like, 'new' new?" They were very happy to have new equipment and they were so amazed that random people from across the country had given the jump ropes to them! I am very appreciative of your generosity and kindness. Your donation has made a real difference for our PE class and my students.

  I am currently drafting projects to help build inventory for our newest campus, which will be opening this August. We are excited to be expanding our charter to another campus to offer our programs to more students. Thank you for making this all possible!”

• Let's Play Ball! Help Start a Brand New Baseball Team

  Funded Oct 18, 2019

  It was such a tremendous surprise to have this project funded so quickly. My students were so excited about our after-school program having a Baseball Club which will lay the foundation for a competitive baseball team in the near future. Our club teachers have been teaching fundamentals to our students and they are gaining skills and an appreciation for the game. We have seen some great moments from our more experienced middle school participants showing our younger elementary-aged students the basics of throwing and catching.

  Several of our students have never played before and the equipment that was provided by this project is perfect for beginners. We hope to continue to build our baseball inventory though a variety of new projects that will be posted soon. Thank you so very much for your kindness and generosity. You have made a real difference for our school and our students.”

• Lend Us a Hand (Or at Least a Glove!)

  Please forgive my tardiness in expressing our gratitude to you. We have had limited time with our new resources as our initial push to start up our elementary baseball group was short-lived as we did not have enough students to create a team. However, there were many students that utilized the new equipment because they did not have their own to bring to our initial activities. Showing my students how to put a baseball glove on their hand for the first time was a wonderful teaching moment for me. My hope is that one of these young students will find a passion for baseball and it will ignite an excitement for them for years to come.

  I have high hopes that our next effort to create an elementary baseball team will yield better results. In the mean time, we will continue to introduce the students to baseball through physical education and intramural activities. I thank you so much for your kindness. It means so much to me that our students have these opportunities, even if we didn't have much excitement from them on our initial effort to introduce them to the game.”
