Buildings Center Time Fun!
Funded Mar 28, 2024I am truly grateful for the generous donations I received for this project! Please know that with your help, my students were given the opportunity to enhance their learning about home buildings and other buildings. My students especially loved to play with the shape sorting house, all about me sorting neighborhood set, and sorting and stacking building set.
Thank you for contributing to make my students' first experiences in school a positive one, and for helping me provide a world of imagination and possibility to my students! I hope you will consider contributing to my future DonorsChoose projects in the future.”
With gratitude,
Ms. McQueen

Funded Jan 19, 2024I am truly grateful for the generous donations I received for this project! Please know that with your help, my students were given the opportunity to learn about the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle study with hands-on materials.
Their favorite item from your donations was the toy recycling trucks. With these toys, my students were able to build structures and then pretend to be sanitation workers, picking up recyclables and bringing them to the recycling center.
Thank you for contributing to make my students' first experiences in school a positive one, and for helping me provide a world of imagination and possibility to my students!”

Funded Jan 19, 2024"Books make great gifts because they have whole worlds inside of them." - Neil Gaiman
I am truly grateful for the generous donations I received for this project! Please know that with your help, my students will have more exposure to books. Most of the families do not have library cards so the children's main exposure to books happens in school. Thanks to your generous donations, they will now also be able to practice these early literacy skills at home with their family. In doing so, the students will be able to practice 3 ways to read a book (read the pictures, read the words, retell the story).
The books chosen included wordless books for children to develop their imagination, vocabulary and storytelling skills, as well as books translated into Spanish to accommodate families whose home language is not English. The books chosen are also multicultural, which allows my students to see themselves in the books we read.
I hope these books will be able to be used for years to come with many different classes. Thank you for believing in teachers and all that we do!”
With gratitude,
Ms. McQueen

Funded Aug 12, 2021I am truly grateful for the generous donations I have received for my "Breathe Easy!" project! Please know that with your help, my large classroom is supplied with 4 air purifiers to help clean the air and make it safer for my young students. (The NYCDOE supplied each classroom with 2 air purifiers.) The air purifiers are run throughout the day to assist with making sure my classroom is properly ventilated and clean air flows. The air purifiers received through DonorsChoose are located by my students' cubbies and the rug of our group meeting area.”

Funded Aug 13, 2021"If we don't give children books that are literary mirrors as well as windows to the whole world of possibility, if these books don't give them the opportunity to see outside themselves, then how can we expect them to grow into adults who connect in meaningful ways to a global community, to people who might look or live differently than they. You cannot." -Kwame Alexande

Funded Aug 12, 2021I am truly grateful for all the generous donations I received for this project! Please know that with your help, my students are able to enhance their imagination, as well as develop their sense of sight (and curiosity!) with the microscope, magnifying glasses, and balance scale.
But perhaps their favorite item from your donations is the large pack of Play-Doh. With the Play-Doh, my students are able to explore their sense of touch and strengthen their fine motor muscles. They love to make people and food out of the Play-Doh.
Thank you for contributing to make my students' first experiences in school a positive one, and for helping me provide a world of imagination and possibility to my students!”

Funded Aug 5, 2021I am truly grateful for all the generous donations I have received for this project! Please know that with your help, my studets are able to develop their gross motor skills through fun and engaging activities.
The children were so excited to explore the large rainbow parachute and enjoy playing ring toss as a class and during center time. The color and shapes activity mats are a great visual aide to help them stay in their designated area during whole group activities.
Thank you for contributing to make my students' first experiences in school a positive one.”

Backpacks for At-Home Supplies
Funded Jul 30, 2020It is with great gratitude that I submit my impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to help fund my Backpacks for At-Home Supplies project. The children and families were so grateful to receive these supplies.
With these supplies, I was able to supply my 18 PreK remote students with backpacks filled with a variety of school supplies to use at home. The supplies found inside help the students engage in fun, hands-on activities and bring them happiness. Most recently, the children used the child-friendly scissors and crayons to make a turkey craft for Thanksgiving.
Thank you for contributing to make my students' first experiences in school a positive one.”
