  • Organization Is Key!

    Funded Sep 17, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation! Because of you, we were able to get some bookshelves for the classroom. These bookshelves have allowed my students to organize our classroom library and have a place for storage of their large textbooks. This has really alleviated the heavy load they carry in their backpacks and has provided a safe place in our classroom for our valuable learning materials.

With the new classroom library area, students now have a place to go to see all the books we have available in our classroom and select a book that interests them, instead of the most easily accessible book.

We thank you for your support and for helping our classroom be more organized! THANK YOU!!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Minera

  • Digital Science

    Funded Oct 4, 2019

Oh what fun have we had learning through Legends of Learning and Flocabulary! Students have actually been able to use Flocabulary to learn about EVERY subject area in school -- and they really enjoy it! We recently took time to use the Periodic Table of Elements Flocabulary lesson. Students noticed connections between the visuals and the elements represented in the video. It was such a great way to review a topic that often times, can be difficult to understand. The songs are catchy and I have found that the students beg to listen to the songs and even sing the songs in the hallways. It really has made learning science so fun!

The Legends of Learning program has allowed students to play games, while learning about math and science. After teaming up with the math teacher, we have found that the learning games really are a great way to close learning gaps and allow the students to learn while playing. Thank you donors for your generosity and support! We appreciate you!”

  • Science at Our Fingertips

    Funded Oct 9, 2019

Oh what fun have we had using these materials in our science classroom. Students were eager to work with the animal cell model. We were able to work in a small group to review the parts of the animal cell. Students were even able to use the model of the cell to review for an upcoming quiz. Being able to hold the model of the cell in their hands and see how and where are the parts go has been so eye opening to them!

We were also able to use the flip chart to review in small groups. Students love working in small groups and the flip charts are the perfect visual for working together.

While we have not had a chance to work with the model of the solar system, students have seen it displayed in class and CAN NOT wait to see how it works. A student volunteered to put the model together and the students around him were so curious to see how it works and just what we will learn. We can't wait to use this resource.

As always, we are so thankful and appreciative of your support. Thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

  • Science Matters!

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

Thank you so much for funding this project! Thanks to your generosity, students are enjoying learning about physical science using the physical science flip charts. We have been able to use the flip charts in small groups to review science concepts and vocabulary words for better understanding.

The model of the Sun, Earth, and Moon was built by one of the students! He could not contain his excitement to take it out of the box and build it for his classmates. Once it was built, students had opportunities to see how it works. We can wait to use this model to teach about the phases of the moon and the different seasons.

We are so thankful for you support and we appreciate your donation. Thank you for making science fun again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Minera

  • Science Boot Camp!

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

We would like to thank you again for supporting our classroom and igniting a passion for learning science. My students were so excited to receive these workbooks. It has allowed them to get a better understand of Middle School specific science concepts. The practice activities and the guided reading have presented the material in a way that students are able to comprehend and also retain the information. Using these books in small groups has allowed me to work one on one with students and clarify science misconceptions that have been formed along the way.

With these books, I know my students will be prepared for their standardized assessment. I am confident that they will continue to enjoy these books. Hopefully, these books will allow my students to continue to explore their passion for learning about science.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, your generosity, and your support of our classroom!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Minera

  • Adding Art to the Science Classroom

    Funded Apr 19, 2019

I wish you could have seen the excitement and curiosity in my students eyes when our package arrived! They were very eager to get started and came up with a plethora of ideas of what we can design, print, and make. Needless to say, we got to work right away. Students designed stickers to decorate our classroom for spirit week.

They also created the most beautiful and thoughtful thank you cards to share with teachers during teacher appreciation week. Being able to share their thoughts on their creations was so meaningful and special for them and the teachers really enjoyed receiving personalized notes from students.

The most recent project the students worked on was creating some decorations for their 8th grade prom. With the use of the Cricut, we were able to personalize the prom decor. The list of things the students want to create, design, and print is endless and we can not thank you enough for your support. We look forward to designing and printing many more things next school year! Thank you again for your donation to our class! We appreciate you!”

  • Hands On Learning With Science Fundamentals!

    Funded Oct 18, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations to purchase new lab equipment for our classroom! My students were SO excited to open and unbox all the brand new equipment. They carefully unwrapped all the beakers and graduated cylinders and organized the equipment into our science cabinet. The students were so eager to get started working with the equipment that they would ask daily if we had a lab planned.

Since receiving the equipment, the 7th grade students completed a crayon rock cycle lab. In this lab students had to breakdown crayons and imitate the rock cycle process. They were able to use the hot plates, thermometers, and beakers to model weathering, erosion, and melting of crayons. They were so excited to use the lab equipment and they were so engaged in the lab.

Now that our lab equipment cabinet is full, my 8th graders have taken an interest in the outer space and we will begin a unit on Earth and Space Science. They are eager to make a 3-D model of the universe, and we have begun our pursuit of a 3D printer! As their teacher, I will find a way to incorporate our new equipment into a hands on lab for the students to participate in!

Thank you again for your donations! Thank you for making our dreams a reality and for supporting our science classroom. We appreciate this more than we could ever express! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Minera

These materials will allow my students to participate in labs within small groups. Working hands on with these materials, my student will learn about science concepts through their own experience with beakers, graduated cylinders, thermometers, and a hot plate. Students will love to visit and work in the science classroom with the incorporation of these materials. The science classroom will quickly become a place of inquiry and learning through the minds and eyes of my students. Students will participate in a variety of labs that will require them to measure, mix, and explore using the materials requested. We will explore states of matter and thermal energy with these materials.
