Lego Theater
Funded Sep 25, 2014The Lego Theater project has really helped inspire some of the more reluctant writers, like the boys pictured here, to write. The experience of creating characters and imaging the character's background and exploits had pencils moving. The Lego sets have become an incentive to students to complete their work so they can do more work! Students will demonstrate their understanding of drama by reenacting scenes from the stories we read and writing scripts using these lego sets as inspiration. Everything is awesome in our classroom thanks to your donations!”

Classroom Library Upgrade
Funded Sep 9, 2014Thank you for your generous donations to our classroom. Thanks to your donations, the class was able to add more books to our classroom library. It is important to have these additional resources within the classroom as teaching aides, read alouds and mentor texts. It is also important for students to have access at times they may not have access to the school's library books. These books fill that need. Even better, they engage students in subjects that excite and interest them!
Your donations have helped provide more tools to capture students' attention and interest. We thank you very much for making it possible to always have books.”

Nonfiction Text and Dictionaries
Funded Sep 10, 2014Thanks to your generous donations, our fourth grade class is able to access materials that otherwise would not be available to them. Scholastic Magazines provide consistently engaging articles, maps, graphs, and pictures that grab even the most reluctant reader's attention.
Mistica and Sabrina agree, "our favorite part of the magazine is the 'Debate' portion. This section discusses hot-button issues and then presents two students' opinions. We also really like the 'Sticky Situation' portion. It really makes us think." Macario and Vanessa appreciate having information that is current, describing social media and video games that are popular now. All students in our class concur, Scholastic Magazine and interesting Non-fiction texts encourage them to read more and learn more about their world!
Scholastic Magazine is an invaluable resource for our classroom. Your donations make it possible for my students to have access to this resource. We thank you!”
