  • New Year, New Supplies!

    Funded Oct 15, 2016

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read my grant and funding it.

The new supplies I asked for may not seem like much but it will make a big difference in our room. Our new pencils and pencil sharpener has already helped us so much! The students now are able to go independently to sharpener their pencil without any disruptions during instruction. Also, the Ink has helped my special education students be able to print out their illustrations they create. My students love creating stories about their parents and friends, and now they can print them out to take home to their families.

Thank you so much for giving my special education students new supplies to replace the old ones in our reading, writing, and math centers to have a promising and successful year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Marassa

  • Let's Balance, Strengthen Our Cores, and Learn!

    Funded Aug 25, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donation of Hooki Stools to our classroom. My student and I are so lucky to have amazing people give such helpful educational gifts to us. When I was explaining to my students how Donors Choose works and how we do not always know the people that donate, they thought that was so nice and generous to have strangers help our classroom. Thank you for putting a smile on my students faces.

These new stools will enhance my students learning so much in the classroom because it will allow my "wiggle worms" to still move around but not be so distracting.

I will forever be grateful to Target for funding and all other donations for helping this miracle come true.

You truly have no idea how amazing it was to receive these great Hokki Stools for my classroom! I was so excited to find out that my project was funded by such awesome people like you. It is because of your generosity and commitment to education and teachers that makes it possible to see growth and success in our learning environments.

Once again, Thank you so much for this amazing gift!!!”

  • Help Me Understand

    Funded Jul 19, 2016

Thank You so much for gifting our classroom with a new Chromebook. As soon as my students saw the computer boxes their faces lit up with joy. It was like Christmas in September. This computer mean a lot to my students because they can now enhance their foundational phonics skills and become lifelong readers. Thanks to your donation, our computer center is now starting to look like a computer center; we have added this Chromebook to our existing computer center. Our classroom is so lucky to have a computer center with working technology, because my students are able to log onto the Internet and access a variety of applications to help excel the pace of their reading and writing.

Susan, I will be forever grateful that you made this project cross the finish line, I plan to use the computer center to bridge a gap where there is a need! You have made a difference in my students educational experience and I appreciate your generosity!”

  • Rock and Roll Phonics

    Funded May 14, 2016

Thank you so very much for the donation you have made to our classroom. These materials have enhanced the literacy centers in our classroom in several ways. All of the Roll and Read Phonics are helping my students decode new words by letting them focus on short vowel sounds, long vowel sounds, blends and digraphs, and word families. The students love just rolling the dice and trying to be the first one to build all of their words—sound by sound! All of these activities allow my students to work at their developmental level as well as building these essential phonics skills that they need to be successful readers.

Thank you for allowing my students to smile and become excited to see the materials we are adding to our classroom. • Reading in a Flash!

    Funded Mar 11, 2016

How can I thank you enough for your wonderful gift? First of all I would like to thank you for the bottom of my heart. It is because of people like you my students can enjoy reading and literacy skills. I want my students to really understand the topics presented to them, and the only way to make sure that they understand is to have reading materials at their developmental level. Now with the wonderful donation you have made my students love literacy.

When my students received the boxes full of our new materials, they were extremely excited and grateful. One student shouted, "This is the best day of our lives." Another one said, "The people that donated to our project are so kind!" Thank you so much for your donations and providing my students with these exciting times in their educational lives.

The tubs that we have received are great for our word work center to build foundational phonics skills. These tubs engage my students to practice sequencing & forming letters, using sight-words in sentences, sounding out simple words and much more! Best of all, when my students are done with an activity, they can simply flip the card over to check their work. The highlighter tape is very helpful to my students especially when learning a new sight word. They are able to find it in the story and highlight it to remember the important word!

Thank you for making that possible. I have also included pictures of various activities they were engaged in thanks to your donation. This donation has the ability to change so many lives, what a wonderful gift you have given my wonderful students. Thank you for giving my students this wonderful life time experience, they will truthfully enjoy.”
