Health and Safety for Classrooms and Departments
Funded Oct 9, 2024As winter rolls in, we had students and teachers come in with sniffles. With your generosity, we handed out tissues and kept our classrooms clean. The air filters were split and the air circulator found a home in the Academic Resource Center.
The duster went through several keyboards and half the Mentos found their way to students' hands. The hole puncher also went through several rounds of paper essays and science worksheets. The staples were added on right after.
In this time of giving and joy, we highly appreciate you and your donations to making our school run more smoothly and providing a clean and positive environment for our students to learn.”

Technology for Student Empowerment and Success!
Funded Jan 13, 2023I am incredibly overjoyed by your kindness to help my department and the students in the school access academic material through digital means. Within a month of receiving the technology, more students have been coming to office hours for mathematics and sciences. Some have returned because they found that it was easier to express their questions using technology rather than raising their hand to ask in class. In algebra, once students started graphing, they preferred viewing questions and explanations on the iPad rather than the white board. The notes were neater and color-coded for them to see how systems worked together.
Other students were happy to be able to get notes on the board onto their phones quickly and check their own notes against teacher notes. The time saved allowed teachers in our department to work more closely with students who needed individualized attention.
The versatility of the iPads and Apple Pencils allowed teachers to depict their subject matter in different ways. Students also found that the iPads were useful for non-STEM subjects. A few students enjoyed the iPads during their free time for artistic expression and to doodle and color digitally. A student became interested in learning about digital art and wanted to learn more about the tools used to create it.
Students have regularly attended office hours and used the notes created by the Apple Pencil and iPad to study for their assessments. We have used them to create study guides and outlines for students to study from.
It was wonderful to see the engagement increase from students. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
