In this world of budget cuts, students are seeing a lack in supports for the fine and performing arts; however, MA has always found a way to provide students with a well-rounded education that included the arts as well as other related arts education. And now it's time again to be creative in finding ways to make educating students about the arts possible. MA students are learning to understand and explore the world of art, history, and the meaning behind artifacts. In the art room, we always end the year with a big clay finale project, which helps bring together all of the elements of art and art appreciation lessons from the year. Students really look forward to their clay project, and even more now than ever before since we have our very own (for the first time ever) KILN! In the past, we have done air dry clay (expensive) or have brought our clay over to other schools with kilns (always taking the chance of breakage during travel). But we always made it work. And now, with the support of Donors Choose, we are hoping we can end this year with a big "clay" bang!
