My words can never explain how thankful my students and I are to you and your generous donations. Here in our classroom, students match their skin to the various skin color crayons. They have fallen in love with their new books daily as they see themselves as characters in the story. As we approach our identity unit, we will have the chance to see how different our skin is and some of the things that make us unique. The bins that you donated have been used to showcase various skin tones, paper,, crayons, playdoh, and paint. Thank you for allowing them to see that all skin is beautiful.”

I would to thank you all for your generous donations, it really means a lot to my students and I. My students and I tried out the balls and ramp, it was so much fun, first we tried it out with some of the students holding the ramps and the others rolling the ball down the ramp. The goal was to see how long we could keep the ball rolling on the ramps. After trying it while holding the ramps, we decided to try the ramps on chairs to see what would happen. It was so much watching how fast the different size balls would race against each other as they rolled down the ramps.
During our unboxing the class was so excited. My co teachers and I did an unboxing show and tell. The way the students eyes lit up was magical. They couldn't wait to play with everything that we received. The first thing they all wanted to try out was the magnetic rollercoaster. Many of the boys in our classroom love cars and the immediate went to our car ramp. The great thing about the car ramp was seeing how the cars down and across the different tractions. The bugs and various bins were a great hit too. As I stated in the beginning, we can't thank you enough for everything.”
With gratitude,

Teaching has always been a dream of mine so being able to work in The South Bronx where students can see themselves in me is a dream come true. Each student is full of life is ready to learn. They continue to push forward when the world seems to push them a few steps back The joy that they is one that can never be stolen. Their lights are shinning bright and they are ready to take over the world one day at a time.
