Book Club
Funded Apr 28, 2018First and foremost I really want to thank those who helped my students, The day we received the box of new books they were extremely excited, they asked: "are those our new books"? It really made my heart melt that they were so excited just to get things as simple as new books.
The way we do reading in our classroom is in small groups so usually kids who are the same reading level group together and we have this thing we call book club and we read the book of their choosing according to their level. For example one of my groups are reading the new Matilda books and they love it because we sit and compare the movie to the book and they would always tell me how much they love the book more than the movie and I love to see how into the book they become.
I really want to thank everyone who donated because your donations really changed some of these children lives.”
With gratitude,
Ms. K.
Please Help Our Students
Funded Mar 27, 2018The books really helped a great deal, the sight of new books really made their day. When I showed the books students were smiling ear to ear. In my classroom we wanted to try something new we decided to have a book club where each week we read a book the class chose as a whole and we read as a class, along with reading we do fun activities that pertain to the book, sometimes if the book came out with a movie we compare and contrast the movie from the book. My students are extremely grateful for all the help and I could not be any happier that we were granted this gift.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Help Us Stay Organized!
Funded Mar 10, 2018When our agendas/planners arrived, our students were very excited! They couldn't believe that someone was kind enough to fund our request. They loved the bright colors and cool activities throughout the books. They were so eager to write down important events and they were even looking forward to copying down their assignments for the day!
Our class is a 4th/5th-grade classroom and at this stage, students should be keeping track of their own assignments. These agendas are helping our students stay organized and responsible each and every day. I am able to write messages to their families and this helps with communication.
We hope that holding students accountable for keeping track of their assignments will help them to become responsible young people. We believe that if our students get into the routine of being organized, this will carry over into all areas of their lives.”
With gratitude,
Ms. K.
