  • Fun Focused Engagement!

    Wow! Everyday we are writing, coloring, cutting and creating! Students have what they need to produce great content and we owe it alto you! Thank you. Last week we were able to show how our Reading was Blooming and we created Flower and Vase styled Book Reports. We were then able to add bright colored paper to the background and make those flowers pop! Many students and faculty members have commented on our display.

    Our next step is to show our Mother's How much we care! We will be making Mother's Day Poems and flowers to present to parents and grandparents.

    We know they will love it hopefully as much as we love you and all that you have done for us.”

  • Educating the Heart

    OMG! What can I say?

    I was hoping to get funded by Christmas to give gifts during the season before winter break, however, that was not the case. I was a little disappointed but was able to get other gifts for that occasion.

    The pledge was fulfilled in February right before Valentines Day! I said to myself, this came in at the perfect time. The counselor at our school was just back from leave and was able to come in collaborate with us on having a safe place and what to do to feel safe. The students were engaged and able to interact with teachers and counselors.

    Afterwards, all the students were given blankets, books and goodies. We had group hugs, many tears and pictures! That will be a moment that I will never forget with my students! Many of them as well as the counselors said the time was touching, emotional and moving for them as well.

    You made that happen for us. Thank you again.”

  • All We Want Are Supplies!

    Thank you very much! We are using our resources daily to complete assignments and projects.

    The students were literally jumping up and down when they saw all the materials; especially the carpet! They ask to go sit on the carpet every time we use the Promethean Board! They love it!

    A next step for my students is a group project on Natural Disasters. They will be able to sit in groups to communicate who will do what part of the project and collaborate on a summative Visual to turn in.

A way I would like to do this is by creating a "Safe Place" in my classroom and help students create a safe place for themselves at home. Social Emotional Books, will educate students on how to deal with their emotions. We can have books available in the classroom and at home. Teaching students skills they can use to gain control of their emotions. The blankets will also provide individual comfort.
