In my classroom, most of my students are English learners. Most of them came from a different country and this is their first year being in school. One letter can make a big difference in each of my students lives because it will allow them to reach their literacy goal at the end of kindergarten. A- All my students will use the Alphabet Learning Locks to learn to match the uppercase and lowercase letters which is the first goal when learning how to read. B- By using the Magnetic Sound Sorting Boards - Complete Set, they will be able start recognizing that each letter makes a sound which will give them C-confidence to continue to strive. D-Despite the challenges, I know that my students will E- effectively use the Simple Words Learning Locks to start blending sounds to read consonant-vowel-consonant words (CVC). They will F-flourish, G-grow and become really H-happy to use the skills as they read their favorite book independently. I-In our classroom, we will J-joyfully use these activities to finish K-kindergarten strong and become confident, L-literate individuals. M-Most of these activities will be used in small group settings, because it will help them develop their speaking and listening skills. N-None of the students will be left behind because these activities will allow them to develop O-oral skills and P-phonemic awareness. They will Q-quickly learn their sight words and improve their R-reading S-skills by using the Fishing for Sight-Words - Level 1 because it is both interactive and educational. T-The different centers are designated for specific learning purposes. U-Use of these centers will support improvement in V-various skills such reading comprehension, language, social, and W-writing development. This will be X-eXtra helpful for my English learners all Y-year long. We are excited to Z-zoom through this year with the help of these activities.
