All of our students want to be able to use computers or do something with a touch screen. Students are continuously using their parents, aunts, uncles or even cousins electronic device. I grew up with technology, myself, and it is continuing to grow and become bigger each year. These materials will make a different in my students learning because we are evolving too, just like our technology. Eventually people will get to the point where they do everything online without having to go anywhere.
The world is changing and we must change with it. I want to give my first graders a chance to have these materials in the classroom. We will be taking a live field trip using these tablets to learn about animal adaptations. All students will be using a site called freckle where each student will be using a tablet or computer to go on this live experience. They will be learning about animals and how they adapt to their specific environment. We have been talking about this for the past couple of weeks in science.
"Technology will not replace great teachers but technology in the hands of great teachers will be transformational."
- George Couros
My students are my family and I want what is best for them and their future. I want all of my students to have a chance to use these tablets. I want them to be engaged and learn as much as they can while they are in my classroom. Every single student I have in my classroom this year is smart, kind, and very sweet. I want everything and more for my students. They deserve the absolute best and I feel that giving them this amazing opportunity will help them grow and succeed as lifelong learners.
