Odds and Ends... Things We Need
Funded Mar 20, 2019Thank you for your support in helping out our classroom. You helped me get all the "little things" we needed to make our classroom a better place. I added the rug in front of the library to give the children a cozier place to read. I added the push pin clothing pins to hold up each child's writing. I also used the spray paint to paint a bookshelf and a table, they look brand new now! And best of all, I added the felt pads for our chairs and they have been amazing, no more loud chair noises everytime a child moves thier chair!
Thanks again for your help, people like you make a teachers life a lot easier!”

Teaching Students About Financial Literacy
Funded Dec 29, 2018Thank you for giving my class the opportunity to add financial literacy into our classroom. There were so many great ideas to make things but time got the best of us.
One way the children were able to raise money for the 5th grade funds was by selling water bottles with the teacher's names on it. The bottles were donated by families and the proceeds went towards the students' trip to AstroCamp. The kids felt so accomplished when putting the names on the bottles. They helped fundraise for children who couldn't pay for the trip.
Other than the fundraising, I used the Circuit machine to put some positive words around our classroom to encourage a positive mindset. Positivity is the key to success. We appreciate your donations and support.”

Funded Nov 9, 2018Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! Having a printer in hands reach again has made a huge impact in our classroom. We just had Open House in our classroom and I used the printer to make labels for everything I had on display. The best part about this printer is that it has insetting. This means HP will deliver ink to my classroom as soon as I am low, love the wireless technology!
Thanks again for your donations. Can't wait to create new signs/ posters in my classroom and make it colorful!”

Help Us See What Our Teacher is Doing
Funded Aug 11, 2018Thank you so much for purchasing a brand-new projector for me class. Because I received the projector, I was able to get the school to provide a new screen for my class as well. It is sooooo much easier to see the screen now. Every child has a good view no matter where they sit. I think the children were more excited about the change than I was. It truly made a huge difference.
I say this all the time because it is the absolute truth, we teachers cannot do our job without the support of the donors. You truly do make great impact on education. Thanks to your donations and kindness, my classroom is accessible for all.”

Bad Chair = Hurting Back
Funded Aug 28, 2018These chairs have been a lifesaver! I mean, I didn't know how bad my chairs were until I received my new ones, and boy they were bad! Not only will I be using these lovely chairs, so will the resource specialist and the aides that help me in my classroom.
Thank you for your support in helping my students, and in this case helping me! The little things add up and make a difference in the classroom. Our daily struggle drains us sometimes but people like you can put a huge smile on our faces with gestures like this. Thanks again!”

Start the 2018-2019 Year Off Right!
Funded Jul 21, 2018Thanks to the gift cards that I got from doing the Goggle Coding program with my students I was able to get all the items I needed to start the year off right. This is the first year that I spent less money out of pocket to get the things I need.
Thank you Donor's Choose for giving me the opportunity to expose my students to coding and compensating my time with gift cards. It was greatly appreciated! Can't wait for another opportunity this year to have my new students try coding or anything else that my 4th and 5th graders will enjoy.”

Photos Are Worth a Million Words!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Having a wireless printer in my classroom has been AMAZING! I used it to display all children's hard work during Open House, we got it at a perfect time!
My favorite project I worked on was the silhouette portraits. I took a picture of each child and used different apps to make the silhouette. Then, the children were asked to write a poem about themselves without saying who they were. The parents job was to figure out who is who in the classroom. This was a hit at Open House! Without the photo printer I wouldn't have had the opportunity to create this keepsake.
Thank you again for the generous donation! People like you can help us change the world!”

Funded Mar 9, 2018I can't thank you enough for your generosity. Our librarian was beyond grateful to receive the new books in the library. Now all she has to do is process them into our library system and it will be up and running. I told my own students about the great news first and gave them the opportunity to read it prior to the rest of the school. This alone made my students want to read more, something I am beyond thankful for!
It is people like you who help change the lives of our future. This may be a little thing that you did, however, it has made a HUGE huge thing for our school. Thank you again!!!”

Funded Dec 27, 2017Thank you so much for donating the class set of Holes for our classroom. Our class has started reading it and is enjoying all of it. We love sitting together as a group and reading the text together. There are a lot of great lessons being thought throughout the entire book. Once we are done reading the book, we will watch the movie and compare the two to see which was better and why.
Your support in our classroom is greatly appreciated by all. If it wasn't for your generosity, our children wouldn't have had this wonderful opportunity. We appreciate your contributions to our class.”

Privacy During Testing
Funded Jan 25, 2018Thank you so much for funding my proposal. The kids were so excited to hear that we got replacements for our old, bulky, dividers. We have already used them on several occasions and we love it. We used it for their comprehension tests and also to test them on their district IAB assessments. it gives each child the privacy they need for any type of assessment. We can't wait to use them again for our SBAC testing.
Thanks again for your support. I know that you are here for our class whenever we need help/support. It is parents like you who make the jobs of teachers so much easier.”
