Pre-K Math
Funded Dec 2, 2015The math center activities and the cube chairs your donations arrived to our class and they have been a big hit with my pre-kindergarten class.
My students have used the math center activities that focus on shapes and counting to ten and soon we will use the none that help my students learn about measurement. These activities have been a fun way to reinforce the skills we are studying in math.
The cube chairs have been a great alternative seating option for students who have a hard time sitting on the rug. The cube chairs fit perfectly on our classroom rug and they help some of my students sit still for lessons.
Thank you again for your generosity!”

Pete the Cat Goes Home
Funded Nov 14, 2015Thank you again for your generosity. Your donations provided my students with "Pete the Cat" books that my students have been able to enjoy at school and at home.
You can't imagine how happy you have made my students. We have been reading different Pete the Cat books over the last few years and they really love them. I didn't read "Pete the Cat Rocking My School Shoes" until today. After reading the book I gave each child their own copy and told them it is theirs to bring home and keep. They could not believe the books were really theirs. When they left at the end of the day the book was the first thing they told their parents about. With your generosity they now have a book they love in their personal library.
Its great having others supporting my students. Your the best!”

Picturing Pre-K
Funded Jan 26, 2016Thank you again for your generous support of my prekindergarten class. The camera your donation provided has already been put to good use in our classroom. It is great being able to take quality pictures of my students. I share these pictures with the parents of my students so they can see what is going on in our room.
This week the camera came in handy to take pictures of my students on our field trip to the zoo. Since we can only have three parents on the trip I will be able to share the pictures I took with all of the parents on the site Shutterfly Share. So even though the parents weren't on the trip they can see what a great time their kids had.
Having such a great tool wouldn't be possible without you and donors choose.org and I am so grateful to you both.”

Pre-K Life Essentials: A Change of Clothes
Funded Nov 21, 2015Well the clothes your donations provided for my pre-kindergarten class have arrived and they have already been put to good use. Several of my kids have needed changes of clothes after they had an accident in class. The sweatpants, polo shirts and sweat shirts are the perfect change of clothes .
Four and five year olds sometimes have a difficult time changing themselves. These outfits have elastic waist bands so they are easy for them to put on independently. They also help me avoid asking the students' parents to send in an extra set of clothes. I would not be able to provide the changes of clothes without your help. For that I will be forever grateful.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose.org Team and 5 other donors.Keeping it Clean
Funded Dec 30, 2015I am writing to thank you again for your generous donations to my Pre-Kindergarten classroom. The cleaning supplies your donations provided have been keeping all of our classroom surfaces and my students hands clean.
The wipes, paper towels and hand soap have already being used to keep my classroom clean and my eighteen students healthy. Everyday I use the Clorox Wipes several times to wipe down the classroom tables. We eat, play and work at our tables so it is important to keep them clean. The paper towels are being used to clean up spills and other messes that my students and I make. My students and I are constantly washing our hands. The hand soap we received will ensure we don't run out anytime soon.
If you didn't help provide these supplies I would have to provide them from my own pocket. This is just one reason why I am grateful.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Quill and 4 other donors.Ink to Print
Funded Sep 10, 2015Thank you again for your generous donation to my pre-kindergarten class. With your help we don't have to worry about running out of ink for our classroom printer.
In pre-k the students don't do a lot of work on the computer that we need to print but we do use the printer on a daily basis to print homework, newsletters, calendars and many other things to communicate with the students families. Because most of the students parents work I don't get to see them regularly. Sending home newsletters helps keep them informed of what is happening in our class. I couldn't have provided the ink on my own. I am so grateful for your help.”

A Place to Put Things
Funded Aug 18, 2015I am writing to thank you again for the storage closets your donations have provided our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. Our classrooms were built without closets and Pre-K comes with a lot of materials. Before we received these two closets the shelves in the class were overcrowded with supplies. The closets provided us a place to put materials when they are not being used. This has helped us clean up our shelves.
Recently we were evaluated by the city and the set up of the room is a large part of this evaluation. In the past we were sited because our rooms are too cluttered. This time they said our rooms were well organized. Thank you for helping us make this improvement in our classroom environment.”

A Place to Write
Funded Jul 1, 2015I am writing to let you know how my Pre-Kindergarten students are loving the writing table your donations provided our classroom. The writing table has provided the perfect place for my students to write and for me to store the materials needed to keep this center up and running.
Everyday the writing center is one of the choices my students get to pick during their center time. When they are their they get to practice writing, This includes learning how to form their letters, write their names and drawing. To do this they need the workspace and storage for the paper, markers, white boards, crayons and markers involved. This writing center has given us all of that. We wouldn't have that without this table. Thank you again for giving it to us.”

Pre-K Arts
Funded Oct 13, 2015Well my students have been very busy putting the paint, markers and dry erase markers to use. One of my favorite parts about teaching Pre-Kindergarten is that we have time to teach through the arts almost everyday. These supplies have helped me be able to do this.
Right now my class is learning about transportation. The paint you provided is being used to create a mural of the water, land and sky. The students are having a great time working collaboratively to create this large painting. When the painting is finished they will use the markers to draw pictures of boats, trains, cars, trucks, planes and helicopters to add to the mural. I can't wait to see the finished project and I wish you could see the impact your generosity has made. I am forever grateful.”

Non-Fiction Magazines for Kids
Funded May 29, 2015Thank you again for your generous support of my Pre-Kindergarten class. Introducing students to quality non-fiction resources is very important. Even in PreK.
The Time for Kids and Scholastic News subscriptions are for the entire school year. My students first magazines are about the first few days of school. Each magazine has wonderful pictures of children similar to the ones in my class doing things. Another great thing about the magazines is that they are written at a reading level that some of my students are able to start reading independently.
We wouldn't have these amazing resources without your generosity and for that I am very grateful.”
