  • Pre-K News

    Funded Mar 10, 2018

My class has been using the Scholastic News magazines your donations provided for months now and the students and I both love them. They provide the students with great Social Studies and Science articles. My students love the pictures of animals in many of the different articles and I love that many of the articles are aligned with my schools pre-kindergarten curriculum. These magazines also help me provide quality nonfiction reading in school and for homework.

Thank you again for providing such a wonderful resource for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Smirk

  • A Place to Sit

    Funded Jul 31, 2018

Well the rug your donations provided my Pre-Kindergarten class has been used constantly since it arrived and we love it! Although none of the pictures I downloaded to show my students actually sitting on the rug, they do show how the rug has been the center of our classroom. We dance on it, build on it, take class pictures on it and much much more. I love using it during read aloud because each students has their own space and they don't distract one another.

We are so grateful for this rug and for you.”

  • Durable Dramatic Play

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

The Dramatic Play stove, refrigerator and sink are a hit! Right now our dramatic play center is set up to be a diner. The students are having so much fun pretending to work in a diner. They are pretending to cook and do dishes as they serve their"customers". While they are doing this all of the furniture is taking some serious wear. However this furniture is so well made and sturdy that it isn't getting destroyed. I know this furniture with be used for many more years. My students and I are so grateful.”

  • Keeping the Germs Under Control

    Funded Mar 7, 2018

Thanks again for your donation to my Pre-kindergarten class. The Clorox wipes, paper towels and tissues purchased through your donation got me through the rest of the school year without having to ask parents for supplies. This is important to me because many of my families would send supplies if asked, but that would mean they would have to go without something at home, and I do not want to burden them like that. They shouldn't have to go without at home to have a clean and safe learning environment at school.”

  • Art and Play

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Thank you again for the paint and puzzles your donations have provided my students. The students used the paints to paint a murals to go along with our water unit. They also had a lot of fun using the paint to create different colors during our Transformation unit. Mixing white and black to other colors to make them lighter or darker was their favorite. I introduced different floor puzzles to the students throughout the year. The boys really liked the truck puzzles. The students will continue to learn with and enjoy these resources next year. I am so grateful for this and to you for your help.”

  • Even PreK Can Be Tech Savy

    Funded Dec 19, 2017

Getting a new iPad with a case and keyboard has been a wonderful addition to the class for my students and I. I was able to use it to take notes during meetings, to take pictures of the students and to take notes on the students progress. The students use it to watch videos, take pictures and play on educational applications like education.com and Starfall.

I couldn't tell you the last time new technology was purchased for our class. The laptop the give me to use is at least 5 years old and barely works. My students and I are so grateful to you for providing us the tools we need to work and learn.”

  • What to Print With?

    Funded Nov 6, 2017

Thank you again for supporting my Pre-Kindergarten class. Your donation provided me and my students with all of the paper and toner we needed for the school year. I'm also excited that we have enough left over to use at the beginning of the next school year.

This past school year I used the supplies to print out homework, notes home to the students parents and writing templates for the students to use in the writing center. It was great to be able to print all of these things without begging the office. I am so grateful to you for that.”

  • Keeping PreK Spic and Span

    Funded Nov 4, 2017

I want to thank you again for your generous support of my Pre-Kindergarten classroom. This years flu epidemic has been bad and my assistant and I have been diligent about keeping our room as clean as possible. We are constantly cleaning the tables and supplies to help ward of the sharing of germs. The wipes and paper towels your donations supplied have made this possible. I can't even imagine how much I would have to spend if you hadn't funded this project. Although my students don't really understand how we got these supplies they are grateful for a clean and safe classroom.”

  • Put it Away to Keep Kids Safe

    Funded Oct 6, 2017

I wanted to thank you again for donating to my Pre-Kindergarten classroom. Although we are blessed with lots of supplies in my room the room was built with not a single closet to store things in.

The new cabinet your donation provided fits perfectly in our classroom bathroom. And now I am able to store all of our soap, paper towels, tissues and baby wipes safely. Before we had a cabinet I had the items stored in corners, on top of the cubbies and anywhere I could find the space. This was not safe and definitely not neat. Thank you so much for giving my class the storage we need to keep the room safe and neat for my students.”

  • Families Learn with Us

    Funded Sep 9, 2017

I am writing to say thank you for getting my pre-kindergarten students and families the parent involvement packs. Each pack includes a fun literacy or mathematics activity that is connected to what we are studying in class. The students take turns bringing home a pack to do with their families.

My favorite part of these activities is hearing the students stories about the fun they had learning and playing with their parents. Families need to spend time together without phones, televisions and video games. These packets help provide this time.”
